Seats falling apart...

...after 1650 miles!
The seat in question is the drivers seat in a campus sport. The material is becoming 'bobbley' on the leg bolster and the area behind my lower back.

Took it back to S*****s Renault in Portsmouth this morning and was told that they would change the cover...but this would only be done ONCE. My obvious remark was that it was perfectly reasonable to assume that this new cover would be no better and that it would need doing again. The parts person told me that if it happened again then it must be the way that i get in and out of my car. I asked him to teach me hw to get into a car seat, but he declined.

Anybody know where i stand now? I assume that Renault uk would say the same thing. Surely i should be able to constantly wiggle my arse on my seat for at least 5000 miles before the seat shows wear and tear.

Sorry for the great length, any thoughts much appreciated.

I'd definitely take that up with Renault Customer Services.

A cars seats should not show wear and tear on them for a long time, let alone under 2000 miles!!

Cause as much fuss as possible mate! Let them fix it then if it happens again tell them and cause the fuss if they refuse. There is no specific way to get in and out of the car, you shouldn't have to be some 5 stone midget not to wear them out either!!

sounds like a fault with your seats or something:dapprove: mine are fine after almost 4000miles they still look like new

Contact Renault UK. However if you managed to wear two seat covers then your way of sitting down etc must have somehting to do with it. i'd get them to chnage it and worry about the second set wearing and think about how your sitting in the car etc.

Hmm my dynamique well now my brothers car is coming up on 30k and both seats are still like new...my 182 is coming up for 9k again both seats are still like new??

Do you sit to one side of the seat when driving, its also a good idea to lift your leg over the right hand bolster when getting in and out of the car to reduce wear to the materil...
