Selling my car

Im really asking for advice on where to sell my car because i need to sell it fairly quickly (nothing doddgy,just bought a house so its got to go).

I have tried the usual things- auto trader website (1 month), 2x auto traders ( 2 weeks each), local free ads (ages!!), on here (again ages) and signs in my car. But to date i have only had a couple of calls and pms.

Has anyone got any other tricks or tips what to do and/or where to advertise?

Am i asking to much for the car? Its a flame red 172, 02 reg with 25k and im asking £8400 everywhere bar here where its £8200. Too much money maybe?

Any advice would be brill!!!!

Easiest way to sell the car is to put it in for a couple of hundred less than a compairiable one on autotrader.

Id say stick it in for £7,950 and dont drop much if any off for a quick sale.

There are loads of 172 for sale now particularly with the 182 becomming so cheap having a repuation in the magazines as being so much better people will pay for it.

Trouble is it was cheaper than most things in there anyway.

And on their website there is two cars same colour and reg for 9.5k and 9.2k so i cant win.

I think your price is very reasonable, I got £8250 from Admiral Insurance for my 51 172 (Black) with 35,000m as a Settlement for my Write Off.

So what your asking is pretty much fair enough.

Are you that Desperate to sell?

Im in the same boat mate and alright I havent waited as long as you but it is frustrating. Have you thought of maybe taking it back to the dealer.

I didnt buy the from a dealer,i bought private so i cant take it back.

I have phoned up one or two dealers and they promised that they would ring back but never have.......

I really cant understand why i cant sell it. 5 months ago when i was trying to buy one, there wasnt hardly any and they were all fetching silly money!

ANyone else got any ideas because im gonna be needing the deposit for my house within a few weeks!!!!
