Shaking at 45-50mph and onwards!!!!

Has been doing this for a while.
But it's only if you foot is planted. If you are maintaining speed. Even at said problem speed it stops. Or is very minimal.
Now I had taken it to dan@519 just today and had the driveshaft. Which was fooked. And swapped for brand new o/s genuine.
But the problem still persists.
I am thinking next I will get tracking checked and make sure the wheels r balanced correctly.

Is there anything else that could be wrong? Anyone else had this problem?
Is really taking the fun away from driving!
Please help

I take you or Dan have had a good look at the wishbones, ball joints, tie rods & track rod ends?

My guess would be wheel balancing, maybe you've lost a weight of one of the fronts?

This was my thinking. Will take it in for tracking and balancing tomorrow. If its not that then its more problem hunting

Just taken the car to have wheels balanced and tracking done. Although tracking didn't get done as car wouldn't get on the ramps.

Bloke at garage said the wheels may not balance up right as they have uneven wear. N/s being below legal limit.

Drive away from garage. Still have wobble at said speed.
I am now thinking that I will get new tires all round next week. Then get re balanced!

Anyone could shed some more light on this would be great. Need to stop throwing money at it and gettin nowhere.

I was just about to suggest driveshaft until I re read the post.

Balancing wheels with already worn tires is pointless, they should have just turned you away.

This shaking just started out of the blue?

Well that's the Kwikfit bellends for you.
Yea just out of the blue.
I have just ordered new tires all round. Will be here Monday. So will be fitted next weekend. See if this fixes it.
If not I don't know what to look for next

Just had new tires all round so the balance is correct and the car is still shaking once at 45-50, still only vibrates if foot is planted. Maintaining speed it doesn't vibrate at all.
I'm running out of ideas now.
Someone please help before I weigh this f**king car in!

I was going to suggest a dry CV joint on a driveshaft causing it to 'grip' momentarily as it rotates round, causing a vibration, but it looks like you've already covered that!

No not at all. As said when free rolling or light throttle is applied to maintain speed no problem. But when floored it shakes

I had the exact same symptoms ended up needing an o/s driveshaft. It started out happening at 65-70 and eventually happened at lower and lower speeds until it was 45-50 like yours. I replaced it for a second hand one but it had got so bad before that it knackered the wheel bearing. I got the bearing replaced and it failed within a few weeks so I replaced the entire hub and it was ok then.

Has anyone checked the new driveshaft? I had one fail in less than 24 hours and I'm sure I read the same happened to someone else recently although it lasted a bit longer. Mine was a ph1 o/s shaft at the gearbox end, one of the 3 bearings had come off it's shaft, which is what happened to the original shaft, so the tripod bit was destroying itself in the metal cup that attaches to the box.

Drove my dad's clio al of last year, exact same thing happened.... ended up driving 200+ miles at 40/50 miles and hour to get to alton towers... mind numbing!

Tried all sorts, new tyres, whell balancing, turned out to be eroded/shattered bushes, track rod ends and a suspension shaft which lost it's wil to live (left Side)

Gear box diff, search my old threads

J, I am starting to think this could be it.
Where there any other symptoms related to this. That we're perhaps not so prominent. I thought that a fooked diff always made a nasty noise. But I'm not getting any nasty noises
