Shock Absorber/ Warranty Issue

  BMW M3
More of warrenty issue so thought this was the right place.

Had a brake switch fixed under warranty today and when i got it back they said i had a leaking shock and needed to fork out £89 !!

Thing is... i had that shock replaced under warrenty on 20/04/05 for the same thing and now this one had gone.(O/S/R) So it lasted about 10 months. Renault say it doesnt have seperate parts warrenty and that its covered by wear & tear which has expired.

Read in the servicing & warrenty book and it appears to be true !!!

Am planning on phoning renault UK to see if i can get them to cover it.

Anyone my legal position and what Renault UK's phone no is?

Thanks guys

Jus

Edit: Any chance a freindly mod could fix my title please.. thanks (Shoch)

3 years warranty, mines gone again, this will be the 4th time I've had a shock warrantied

If you buy a brand new part and it fails within 12 months it should be replaced for free anyway whether you have warranty or not?? (maybe only on certain things??)
Im pretty sure that is the case coz when i had my valver I purchased a new oil temp gauge which I had fitted at a non renault dealer.
Within 9 months it had broke again I took it back to where i had it fitted, they contacted renault to arrange delivery of a new gauge who was then told that renault wanted to fit it as the part was less than 12 months old. So renault replaced the new gauge for free....

how do you actually know if your shocker is failing?
Usualy there covered in the oil but an easy way is to push down on the corner of the car and if the car keeps rocking when you let got of it then the shocks gone.
Its an MOT failure if they dn't stop rocking once the car has risen up once.
