Well owned the car for 3 years now and it was around then i changed my spark plugs.

Looked out the invoice and it was DEC 17th 2010 when i last changed them so today i bought some new plugs and swapped them over.
As i rushed out and bought plugs i found out when down the garage that i have 8 new plugs sitting in a bag

How often should i be changing these and here is the state of the ones i took out.

I only have experience with spark plugs in a 2 stroke engine, but they look fine, maybe a TINY bit rich. (and I mean a tiny bit.)

If the car is running fine, then what's the problem? Have you noticed a difference with the new plugs in?

I don't understand why people don't change plugs with an oil service. They're not astronomically expensive are they?

The Ebay link is a 1 X Pack of 4 plugs at a cost of £36.01 and yes you change all 4.

The retail price for 1 plug is listed below at a cost £15.05

I always have mine changed every service at 18k as stated may as well get them done when you have oil service done.

Is it going to be 36k? I think swapping every 6 months is ridiculously excessive. No wait, I don't think, I know it is.

Just FYI, I replaced mine at 72000 and they were in better nick than that.

New oil change, Filter Change & Spark plugs every 6 months or so.
Surly cant go wrong doing that especially when im paying under £25 for 4 plugs

I change my oil every 5k, so roughly 4-5 months, but thats including fast road and track work. Go by mileage or annual, 6 months if you do hardly any miles is pointless.

Put the £25 towards your bloody dephaser.

Dont you worry about the dephaser in any shape or form.

I'm not worried in the slightest, I also dont give a f**k if you want to change your plugs before every journey but I am trying to give you some advice that will save you money.

The car will be fully working and running better than its ever been in the next 7 days.

It will be getting a small service every 6 months and alot more attention on the running and mechanical side of it rather than modding it with parts and bits and bobs

Change them every 3 oil changes IMHO is a good rule of thumb.

So if its a track car thats getting hammered and having oil changed every couple of K then change them sooner than one that is on 10K oil changes cause its sat in 5th on the motorway all the time.
