Some guy sold me wheels with incorrect PCD!

Bought some OZ F1s off Ebay and he stated they were PCD 100 and ET35-38.

Just got em from the courier and went to put em on and they dont fit on my hub!

NOT IMPRESSED! I think they're PCD 96 (this number is embossed on the inside of the wheel) and they're saying et37. theyre off his MX-5 which ive read before do share the same fittings roughly as a 172.

Am I able to bore the PCD out a bit to 100 (and how much would this cost/who would be able to do it) or are they not worth keeping for my car?

Cheers.

Sorry, I mean the bore is the wrong size. (I'm an accoutant not a mechanic!)

AccouNtant I suppose ;)

96 is highly unusual, probably 98? Also did you measure them?
You can use whobbly bolts to overlap those 2 mm's, but not everyone trusts them (altho i used them for 6 months on my fiat coupe turbo):dapprove:

Best thing to do is sell, and buy the correct wheels.

Sorry guys, nothing to do with PCD. That should be fine as they are 100. Just the centre bore. They must've come off and earlier MX5 with 54.1 bore I found? Mine's 60.1.

Is it worth me boreing them out?

You'll have to pay a machine shop to bore them out. Probably £50-£60's worth of work. Plus finding a machine shop thats willing to do it.

CBA! Looks like I'm gonna have to flog em and put the cash towards some 2nd hand coilies that come up! Gutted. They were the anthracite OZ F1s too (as standard) with the lettering on the rim. BUM.

Already had a ph1 with dark turbines, wasn't into them at all soz. If I had a mk1 16v or a R5 GT then I'd be up for it!

That debadged bonnet has caught my eye tho!

Every OZ wheel I've seen has a common very large centre bore & then OZ alloy spigot ring fitted to suit the application. If they have been on for years they can be hard to remove and if wheels have been painted often hard to make out. But once removed you can buy from any OZ reseller the correct spigot rings to fit your application, I've done this twice before.

The OZ spigot ring should have raised OZ on it plus the centre bore size. It's a very cost effective method of producing wheels rather than making wheels in every size or to order.

Interesting! Just done a quick google search and found your post on a Fiat forum from 2008 about this! Everywhere I'm reading is sayin OZ's have a huge centre bore aswell. The wheels are 40 miles away at my parents now so can't check. Bummer. But will get my mate to go have a look. Cheers!

To be honest it did feel like there was a lip on the inside and the wheels look well used on the part that bolts to the car.

you absolute hero mate! After cleaning and rubbing, it is that the old metal spigot rings had practically welded themselves to the rim! SORTED!!!! Spigots are a bit goosed now, but they can't cost much to replace?

I bought some spigot rings from Weston Motor supplies for my old Astra Van. They were £12 delivered for a set of four.

Does this mean I can buy your Ronals????

Thing is now mate, I think I've just provisionally bought some Coilies on here from Budgie so my Ronals can stay! Sorry pal. Will see which I prefer on when I get the coilovers on though and let you know! Why do you need Ronals so much in your life?!

No the spigots are inexpensive, just ask any OZ dealer to source them for you as it should not be an issue. I think I may have just found sellers on eBay doing the centre caps & asked a few to price up spigot rings giving the centre bore of the wheel after removing the old spigot.

Came in nice OZ bags iirc

There is a reseller on eBay selling non genuine OZ spigots for less than £15 delivered if you search OZ spigots.
