Spigot rings

  Mégane RS
Dont know much about them, what are they and where do they go on the wheel? pictures would help too, thanks

  Golf GTI 1.8T
dunno what they do but someone I know has a workshop full of them, iirc about 500,000 or so. cost about about a £1 each to the trade

  Skoda Fabia vRS
they are a ring that goes into the back of the wheel to make the hole the correct size for the hub its being fitted onto

Yeah its all a mystery to me, i know they are a ring, metal or plastic and 60.1mm but where do they go? thanks

inside the wheel is the centre bore.. that bore slots onto a 'ring' that sticks out from the hub.. thats why the wheel is held in place while you bolt it up...

anyway, those 'ring' sizes vary on different cars.. so alloy wheels are made with a large centre bore to be used on various different cars/hubs.. the spiggot ring is a plastic ring usually that fits inside the centre bore of the alloy wheel and reduces it down to a smaller size bore for cars that have smaller 'rings' on the hub..

so that the wheel slots on that ring evenly and securely.. then you can line the bolt holes up like you would on a OEM wheel.

if that makes sense??

PRESS THE SPIGOT RING INTO THE CENTRE BORE OF THE WHEEL MAKING SURE THAT THE WIDEST SIDE OF THE RING IS AT THE TOP AND THE CLIPS ARE IN THE GROOVE.
DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE AS THIS WILL DAMAGE BOTH THE SPIGOT RING AND THE WHEEL.
