Standard RT radio to KDC-5080r, help!

dont have a clue how im gona get it in. new stereo has no cradle (dunno if i can use standard one but doubt it), need new adapters cos person i bought it off had to cut em to fit his car, and i have no idea how to get the standard radio out

theres 4 little holes on the front of the radio, what do i need to get the radio out? i assume theres some little locks or something in the holes? why do renault have to elimate every possibility of doing anything DIY?

not sure what bits i need either, im just totally confused! whats bits am i gonna need? want it ready for when i can drive the car on the 12th...

tweeters in dash are daisy chained off front speakers, so effectivly you only have four sets of wires to worry about. To get old radio out you could always chop up an old (metal!) coathanger, into 4 pieces push into holes to release catches and pull out. youll need a plug from halfords that has loose wires on the one end then you could bullet connect all the wires in your car to that.

as a quick guide this is the speaker plug

theres a million wires on the back of the renault head unit! my god it looks hopeless, my dads having a stress with it that doesnt help

the aerial adapter is completely different, theres a million other wires other than the one u show in the picture, i dont have a cradle thingy and dont know where to get one from either. how can i get a cradle thatll fit?

there should be another block connector, one for all the power, remote live etc, (Ill get a pic when i can) and that one it the pic for the speakers. Arial adapter usually get in the box with new stereos, cradle should be able to get from halfords, about £6 i think!

im gonna go to halfords tomora and try and get the bits i need. need a haynes manual really to see the proper wiring diagrams. im considering getting rid of the new head unit already and keeping the standard one cos im lazy lol, but i need a cd player!

is it worth paying halfords to do it?

dont pay halfords !......

you should be able to get a connector to simply clip onto the old connector and into your new cd player

you can buy a tool for removin ur old head unit, but its basically 2 pieces of wire curved round to a C shape.....

my wires look different to that... theres a big chunk with 16 wires in it, some of them pink, and then theres a grey thick cable aswell which im not sure what it does, steering wheels controls maybe? all very very confusing, lol

im going to go to halfords for the necersary bits tomora, what do i need? i know i need a cradle and a steering wheel control adaptor but what are the other things i need exactly? just wana clarify it a bit for me

if the previous owner chopped the old connectors off youll need a lead which has an ISO block on one end and loose wires on the other, then its a case of useing bullet connectors (or something similar) to join the wires in the car to the ISO cable. other than that just the cage and an arial adapter, cant think of anything else for now!

right begining to get my head round it now, hopefully. just one thing, how will the cage fit into the hole in the dash? will the old standard cage have to come out? and if so is it just a matter of unclipping it or something or have renault designed a special key that you have to buy only from them at a stupid price to get the cage out? lol
