Steering and knocking issues

  Clio 172, Zafira
Hi everyone. Im new to ClioSport but having a few problems so come in serach of your expertese. :) My Ph2 Clio 172 Seems to be all over the road when I give it a boot. For example when coming onto the motorway sliproad and take it through the gears upto the redline to about 70 the car feels like its pulling from side to side. I dont think its torquesteer as I havent noticed this before. Plus when I turn left I get a clicking/knocking noise. Also after this the car was pulling to the left and the steering wheel had a CLEAR visible wobble. It has done this before but it failed its mot on track rod ends. I replaced these and the car seemed fine but now its back. It seems to sort itself out but I dont notice it much as I dont really rag my car, but when I do it shows up and isnt really safe. I checked it out last time, got on axle stands, checked for anything visible and ran the car on the stands but cant find anything. Have done the same again today but im not convinced. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm think this maybe your driveshaft bearing / CV joint / wheel bearing, best thing to do would be to get it back on the stands and see if there's any movement in the shafts and the wheels, there will be some small movement but anything else may give you a clue. Also check tyre wear which may indicate suspension issues / tracking.

Cheers mate. I have checked whilst up on stand but cant find anything out of the ordinary. I have taken the N/S suspension leg off but seems ok. The top bearing has play but I suppose this is normal? Im going to pull the driveshaft out when the weather sorts itself out and check that out, fingers crossed something will show up. Tyres are all fine so dont think have a tracking issued. The steering is spot on until this happens, its as if something comes out of place and plays up whne under load.
