Strange engine noise

Hey all



Please see above video for the noise mentioned like a squeak whine hard to get good vid as have to rev a bit to get the noise to appear car is 197 dephaser aux and cambelt all done by birchdown bout 5 months ago so doubt belt anyone heard anything similar

Once driven for about ten minutes noise is gone

If it was a engine mount then the sound would be there constant :smile: tbh that sounds like a pulley to me as the noise increases with the rev range

Im on my first at the min haha, to the OP i would contact Birchdown and explain what the issue decent lads down there should be able to fit you in and give it quick check over

Yeah have just sent them a message gonna get my brakes done at same time. Switched on again before and sounds fine one of them annoying intermittent noises. Only started since colder mornings and when temp outside is below about 10 degrees sounds weird but :/

Nasty cough you`ve got there.Really sounds like a slipping belt to me,so aux tensioner has probably siezed.Think it happens when its cold as you get condensation on the pulleys overnight.

Yeah got a bit of a cold coming ok a bit more tinkering and it is infact only making the noise with the clutch pressed, release bearing?
