Strange Power Loss

I have a Ph1 172 its year 2001 its done 66000 miles and i last thursday had the cambelt done at renault. came to 395. now since this has been done i have been noticing strange power loss almost like feeling a big gust of wind against you but theres no wind. could this be a renault error? could it be wearing in? anyone had a problem like this id like to know? thanks

when my cambelt was bodged they didnt have it set right, and it ran but out of time, sort of thing. when it was sorted the power came back.
renault shouldnt of done this though, they have a 'tool' for it!

car is ran on 95 ron fuel

at the mot a few days ago the emissions were higher than they should have been, only just a little high, but still higher than they should have been

could it just be a case of it being ran on 95ron fuel being the problem, or sounds more like lambda or cambelt issue after the change

car gets to 4000revs then holds back, then goes again, thats what you said wasnt it?

Something not quite right there.Get it back to them before you do anymore serious miles.If there is a fault and youve done 500+miles in it they might tell you to sod off because you have done so many miles..Dont give them the exuse.

Sounds like the timing could be out a little.

Sounds favourite anyway because of the work that been done so recently.

tank is low so he's going to try some 99ron stuff in the tank and see if it helps

The power delivery just isn't smooth, will get to 4k revs and then will pull but nowhere near what it normally does

no warning lights are on

so maybe timing out, will be covered by renault warranty after the cambelt job

or maybe cat or lambda problems at a guess, or fuelling


problem with going renault, is that if they hook it up to a diagnostic machine and its not something they've cocked up they'll charge £60-70 just for a short test

UPDATE

after sitting at idle for 10 minutes the engine management light came on

after driving off again the light then went out

signals what?

it's back into renault today to see if they screwed up the cambelt change at all


sounding more like emissions, cat, lambda problem?

Renault have came back and said the problem is the Coil Pack

cost £60??

fitting, easy as anything? 4 bolts to undo?

Yep easy to fit 15 minute or so.

£45 for the coil pack last time I checked.

I have this problem with my Clio 182, Rentech said it was the coil and its getting fitted soon!!! This month or next.

Coil packs are a pain. Not a bad price though. Could fit it yourself.
