Stud on exhaust cam?!

  182 trackday racer
In the Renault manuals I have showing the F4R engine the exhaust cam have a stud on one end. I just bought C&B cams that dont have this stud, have also seen other cams like CatCams that lack this item.

Like on this picture I borrowed from another forum user ;)

What is the story behind this and what do I need to do to mount my C&B cams?

Cheers

Buy the stud from renault, they are supposed to be replaced if the pulley is removed anyway apparently. Considering they have never had a pulley on I guess they leave it out to make sure you put a new one in.

new stud is about £8 from renault IIRC. you can remove the old one with some heat to soften the threadlock. Its the nut that's recommended to be replaced when the pulley is removed.

Did some checks an I think it is: 8200778847

Would be happy if someone could confirm!

This is the right number!

You do need kit 7701471629 as well + the seals on the gearbox side of the cams. Kit contains all seals, bolts and nuts that need to ba exchanged on the timing side of the engine.

Some thing I do wonder is how to fit the new stud in the cams? How did you guys do it? Loctite?!
