the new clio gets a new colour!

i got bored today so i decided to refurb and colour change the colour of the 172's wheels.
being a silver car, it limits the colours that i could do and it would still look good so i went and mixed up my own colour which is more like graphite than anthracite and has a pearl green fleck mixed in (which you can only see in the sun)
i didnt want to do black or anthracite as they have been done to death so this seemed to work well.
any way just some pics to show the process and results.
opinions welcomed!!
thanks

I can't imagine them being good quality tbh. All done in 2.5 hours? Christ, to rub them down properly, sand, wet sand takes an hour per wheel anyway. Saying this, how do they look up close? And how many coats of lacquer have you put on?

lol if it took any longer, i wouldnt be making much money. lol.
if i am doing a full set off wheels its a lot easier than doing 2 at a time! i put 3 coats of lacquer on ( 1 dust coat and 2 wet coats to bring the shine and depth up) they look great up close, you can see it in one of the pictures.
rubbing them down when you have a D/A is a lot easier than doing it by hand lol

Wow, Looks great for the time it took, What are those cards around the wheels? Specialist things or.. looks to me like curry cardboard lids?

they are called spray out cards, just save taking the tyre off or masking it up.
yes that is Mr i am not getting dirty or doing anything Stone in the background and chrism09 you can come and see them whenever you like if you want but not sure why you think they will look any different after a few months??
glad everybody likes my new colour...

they look good mate, i painted the wheels on my old mk1 clio in no time at all with rattle cans and very little prep only time i had paint problems was when the tarts at tyre place took the tyres off so im not suprised when its your living and you have the right tools it can take 2.5 hours for 4 wheels to be refurbed.

Link to the spray out cards if possible ?

Did you use any metal filler on the curbing or wasnt there any?

Im impressed by the photos, Id be happy getting 2 done a day getting them dry before there on the car in the summer for myself.

lol incase it wasnt obvious i do this for a living!! so taking a day to do 4 alloys is just ridiculous... as said its alot easier when you have all the tools and heat lamps to cure them!
i cant give you the link to where i get them from as its for trade customers only but i think they are about £10-£15 for enough to do 4 wheels (you can use them over and over again)

^ Ah i see, Yep i get where you are coming from, for one set its easier for me to mask them up...

Either way good job, Looks good.

Edit can you link me up anyway please? PM if you want. Thanks.
