Thrust bearing problem, engine seals and where to buy things!

I'm guessing they shouldn't rattle like that?

Anywhere apart from Reno sell them?

Test built up the bottom end before doing it properly this week and noticed this.

thrust bearing

have you got both thrusts in place?
and have you measured end float?

did you buy all new bearings? they normally come with the mains

Where did you buy them from or are they the old ones?

They are available from plenty of places... give King Components a call, I always get my stuff from them as they can get pretty much anything. Luckily they are round the corner from me but they do post out, my thrusts were from there

No these were just the old ones put back in place. Yeah they're both there!
Im guessing from your replies they shouldn't move at all then?

Yeah just called Reno and asked, they list loads of sizes from 2.3 upwards. whats confusing me is the width of the bearings i've got are fine, it's just they're clicking backwards and forwards on rotation of the crank? Is that normal?

Also 2 crank seals. £38.63 + vat. fcuk about.

I'll check again tonight but fairly sure i had. Can compare against the second bottom end I guess.

Wishing I'd bought a complete secondhand engine at the moment tbh, but i'll get there.

re the gasket price, order a complete gasket set, it always works out cheaper

you appear to have a top end set, and not an engine set. you should still be able to buy a bottom end gasket set for cheaper than buying separates

I paid around £13 for the actual thrusts (trade) and about the same for the two seals.. Il reply to your PM shortly Jon

I've got a sump gasket downstairs in a separate package, so assume I'm only missing the crank seals then. I'll get some tomorrow. Didn't realise you could order an entire engine set - wish the parts department had volunteered that info! Can you think of anything else I should order?
