Tire and re-spray question?

  Recaro Black Gold 182
Hey all, i just need to know a couple of things...

1) I've been quoted £270.40 for four toyo proxes TS1, includes fitting and weighting and all the other bits and bobs. I currently have Eagle F1's how much better/worse are proxes in comparison?

2) I'm thinking of getting my car re-sprayed, whats the 'average' cost for this sort of thing? Is there anyone that needs to be informed about this if i do (dvla, etc?)

Cheers, any help will be appreciated.

1) many people think they're poor in the wet! the new version of them - the t1-rs arent bad judging by my mates golf!

2) dvla and insurance company if its a colour change, if not, then no need to tell anyone.

What size tyres are they 195 50 15 V
I have just put Toyo Proxes T1S on my MK2 Ph1 172 and found they are good but don't feel like they have as much grip as the Michelins Exaltos I had on previously.
Oh and if your tyres are the above size that price is a rip off.
I got mine from www.mytyres.co.uk for £30 per corner and had them fitted at a local garage for £8 per corner.
Just checked on their site and you can currently get the Toyo's for £138.80 for 4 and thats delivered then you just need to get em fitted prolly cost another £30
So £170 as apposed to £270 is a bit of a saving I feel.

Anyway good luck

if its a same colour re-spray, then i rekon you would be looking at apprx 1200 notes, i know a good place, depending where you are based.

you'll get a million people saying toyo's are 'widow makers' and loads saying they are 'legend' so its really down to the individual and what they expect and how they drive etc.. i personally quite like them when ive had them in the past so i cant complain about them.

as for a respray, are you going a completely different colour? if not then you may want to ask around to see if you can have the problem areas on your car painted and blowed in to match, will save money and still give a new car appearance.

Cheers all for your input, im tempted to stick with the goodyears, going to shop around for the best price, currently been quoted £290 fully fitted. That too expensive?

I want to get it sprayed iceburg silver because the silver i have is rather quite dull, but it really depends on how much its going to cost. 'dannyboy' im located near swindon and bristol.

I really just need a 172... lol

I love my eagles and wouldnt chnage them for toyos but Ive never actually tried them. 16vClio has had both and much prefered the eagles. Not much more cash for 15s either.

I know what you are saying, they are a fantastic tyre, like other people have said i have heard a mixed response about them. Tempted to stick with what i know is good.

Yeah I certainly have, Ive never heard anyone saying that the toyo is a better tyre anyway! I would consider trying Michelin PE2s but not for the extra cash they want!
