Cause my car is in for a service... and the service guy actually got it right.. he said "you in for.. a 24000 mile service? do you have a 172 or something ?"

wow.. result !

Opinions on the 1.2

Not as slow as I imagined it would be, quite nippy around town. Interior is naff, dont like it at all. Brakes are very good as per the 172, But the power steering is WAY too light ! i believe the 1.2 has electric assistance where the 172 has hydraulic.. they should have stuck with hydraulic IMO also the clutch is very light aswell and the 172 isnt exactly heavy.

Some tw*t left the bloody sunroof open when they returned it yesterday and it pissed down last night.. thankfully my bum is mostly dry !

But my one biggest gripe !! I miss my climate control.. spent the entire journey from the dealer to my work trying to get the heating right ! needless to say I was having hot flushes followd by frost bite :(

I think I will stick with the 172 just now ! pretty obvious really but I thought I would give my honest opinion on a 172 owner going to a 1.2

Yeah i made sure i got some 172 options like the CD player and Climate on mine, makes a big difference and also for residuals.

The steering is light, but id still say the electric steering is better and more feelsome than other cars ive tried. You have to remember the reason its there too, easy to park for the girls..so i dont think its too bad a compromise.

Anyway, nice to see you didnt rubbish it ;)

If the 1.2 had climate, changer, hydraulic steering and 172 interior I would have been well chuffed with the car.. cause like I said it was no slouch..

You know those 1.2 coutesy cars are all semi auto you dont need to use the clutch to changed gear. Full throttle upsifts I hope

^^ hehe.... not just me then..... The first courtesy car I had was a 1.2 8v..... that was frankly appalling.... the 1.2 16v is miles better. Quite a decent drive, but I agree about the steering - very light, especially after the 172, which is quite heavy for PAS imho....
