Basicly the same price as RSR's and AD08's atm so I would assume these aren't even in the same league? I only asked as they are in the same sort of price range and cant find any other threads on them specificity.

From what i've seen from Dan & Rhys i'd be looking at Federal 595 rs-r's for less money, they got on with them really well, certainly what i'll be having next!

  Lotus Elise
Im looking at AD08s for the Boxster when I need to replace the rears.

R1-R from what Tony has told me is they are a bit poor until you get them down to 3/4 mm then they are very good.

Random! :S

RSR's are probably the ones for me but you know, I would be stupid to buy 4 without looking else-ware first. Part worns are probably best tbh considering they will only be used for a couple of trackdays a year but its a case of finding some!

8mm from new iirc. Tony's comments were made to me when it was dry by the way.

Less tread = less movement = less heat being generated.

They were pretty good from the passenger seat at a wet Llandow when they were new mind..

595 rs-r's are circa £20 cheaper at the minute on camskill.co.uk as they're on special offer, at a saving of £80 over 4 and the fact they are as good as the others mentioned means they would be my choice

Want to order something friday, tempted by the part worn pilot sports on ebay/pistonheads that Sam linked in another thread but I dont think I can get away with 205's on my 15's, the rears are on the arch as it is and the fronts already rub on the bumper bracket running 195's!

I'm sire Chris "Chir5" runs these, or at least he did when we went to the ring. Might be worth giving him a PM?
R1-R that is not Cups lol.

I am at the end of my AD08's on the ITB Williams. I had R1R's before that. A little track work on both tyres.

Performance in the dry goes to the R1R. Better feedback due to stiffer sidewalls (in my case) but more road noise and harsher ride. Sometimes made me pooh my pants in heavy wet weather. They also did get very sticky in hot weather, and were no worse at the end of their life in this respect.

AD08's are...squishy. Everyone prefers different driving styles but I didn't like the feeling of the AD08's. Not to say I don't like them but compared to the more hardcore R1R feedback it was not as much fun in this sense. Much friendlier in the wet though.

Will be trying RS-R's next in 195/50/R15 size.

R888's are very nice, but only ever used them in the dry on a well set up car.

have to agree, Dan's car was amazing in the wet with those on. Even in torential rain they gave total confidence

I have used R888's in wet and dry and they perform well in both, on track they are great in the wet once upto temp :)

I have a few more track days left in them at the mo but I have a partworn set of RSR's to go on next in the shed and from what I have heard they are an excellent tyre and the fact I gave sod all for them can only be a bonus, will report back once I've used them :)

I Agree with Sam, they are much better half way thru their life!, i always ran them on my DCi100 as they were a decent cheap performance tyre, fitted some to my PH1 172 to get it thru an mot and they wern't a patch on PE2's but they were also not far off a quarter of the price!

I'll be buying a set of tyres at the end of the week. Can't decide between r1r and ad08.

Won't be going for RSRs as too many horror stories. Do a search on Google.

as above, you'll have to be more obvious than that as i've not seen or heard anything negative about them

Delaminating has been posted on more than a few forums and a few people I know have had it personally..

  GSXR + KDX220
I have these on mine (as Scott said) and tbh I havent got a bad word to say about them. Had them on for the Ring trip, a track day at Snetterton a few months back with both dry and very wet conditions and they performed very well, I personally think they're very good in the wet :)

They will go off a bit if pushed hard in dry conditions on track but on the road I cant fault them

In the MSA blue book there are two lists of tyres 1A and 1B. 1B being better than 1A. The AD08s are generally regarded as the best list 1A tyre. The R1Rs are in list 1B so you'd expect them to have better ultimate grip.

I've used AD08s in the wet and dry and they're good tyres.

I've got R1Rs for the wet but not used them in anger yet.

AD08s have 8mm tread depth when new, but the tread blocks are narrower at the top to reduce movement.

I've Got RS-R's on mine atm and cant fault them on the road. Done a wet day at brands and they were ok but nothing special. Also done a dry day at Bedford and a dry day at silverstone and both times felt a little disappointed at the level of grip even after playing with the pressures. but saying that their not an all out track tyres so I don't expect too much from them.
