Twin Exhausts

  Trophy #387
I drive a 1.2L 16v Clio and I really want to improve the sound it makes as well as getting an exhaust which I can actually see.

I've pulled this image off of google images and i'd love to get something like that for my Clio, the picture is off a 182 but i'd like that style on mine.

Has anyone had this done to their clio, and could you guys tell me how much it would cost for the exhaust system (would I have to get the full system or just a back box?) and how much i'd have to pay to have the holes cut out of the back for the exhaust to fit?

Links and pics please :rasp:

Yeh just found that 1 bro, looks decent ... There's a review saying it looks / sounds great and is worth the money.

£323 doesn't seem to bad if that's for the full system but i've got a feeling that's the back box only? :/

Do you know the size of those exhausts btw? Doesn't actually say but they look like 3"s I think.

EDIT: I like that Vicky :) Any chance you could give me a mini-review on how much it cost overall and stuff? also is it worth the money and what's the sound like? Thanks..

Well it's cheaper now that when I bought mine which is a good start for you.

You'll have to speak to K-tec about fitting costs as mine was fitted a few years back now. I'd say it's worth the money, I've considered swapping since the engine swap but it's become part of the car now and I don't think it'd be the same without it.

I think it sounds good and I don't regret buying it at all. Only criticism I would have is that I had a lot of trouble with the tailpipes being slightly off and that bugged me, took it to an exhaust specialist who made an attempt but in the end I got a bracket made up which holds the exhaust to the spare wheel well so it's now straight.

Lol no he's not, however I have seen one! The exhaust tips were in the middle but you could see the steam coming out from one side lol!

Haha that's dreadful, it's bad enough when people have twin exhausts and 1 of them isn't real but both exhausts fake ahahahaha!

Just to check Vicky, this is a full system for the £323? and also, how much effort will it be for me to make it sit perfectly within the holes at the back, i've seen a few people saying that it sits out of line and stuff?

Fitting a gay backbox won't make it sound or look any better.

You need a proper system manifold back for that.

Don't worry bro, i'll buy a full system when I get one as they're much better .. I have asked in the thread if this is a full system :( There's no way i'd spent £323 + fitting for a back box!

Sorry didn't see the question, yes the ktec price is for the full system which IMO is the better option.

Also you don't have to modify the spare wheel well.

Makes the car look better for a start, makes it sound better and makes it more fun to drive as well.

Fitting a 182 exhaust on a 1.2 will not make it look better, you will simply get laughed at!!

And it wont make it more fun to drive either, if anything the extra weight will make it slower!

I had mine fitted to the car when it was a 1.4 can't say it made it any slower.

Mine still looks like a 1.4 as well and whilst I know it's a matter of personal opinion I don't think it looks bad at all. The exhaust now sits straight in the surrounds and looks quite good (IMO of course). I've had nothing but good comments since having it fitted and i'm definitely keeping it.

All that matters is getting the look that you want for your car :)

I agree it's definitely not something you buy for performance but it does sound good (as far as I remember, I stuck a decat on quite soon after) and if that's the look you're after it works. Only thing as said before is alignment issues.
