two unsure things about my new 172 interior?

hey guys just got a few questions about my headunit

i have searched through as best i can and i honestly didnt find it so please dont shoot me

first of all im currently in a megane coupe 1.4 16v as i have to wait til the 22nd of July to drive it because then im 21 and when i took the old headunit out of the megane to fit my sony headunit, the OEM headunit reset itself and i needed a code to start it up again but i didnt have the code and i had to pay renault bout 20 quid to get one :S well i want to put my sony headunit in the 172 and as my old man is having the megane i was wondering if i took the OEM 172 headunit out and put it in the megane, would the 172 headunit reset itself or would it be ok??

and secondly the trim on the steering wheel on my 172 has glitter on it from the previous owner and its stuck fast, any ideas how to get it off without ruining it? and also the trim where your thumb goes is falling apart and i have read you can get carbon replacements from ktec, any ideas on how they are fitted and the price??

The standard 172 headunit will need the code pushed in again if it's taken out.

Trim? The plastic insert or the leather?

Thumbgrips aren't available from K-Tec although there is a member who sells glassfibre copies or TonyT who repairs your own by covering them in carbon.

Gotta sign-up to see the For Sale section though.

ah ok must have just been some dodgy info i read then, told you im a noob lol ok yeah i will sign up in a little just watching the match atm.

would i have the code in my users manual or will i have to pay renault for it again? its the leather around the steering wheel on the top. i truly hate glitter aswell, its like sand just gets everywhere lol

do you know how much the thumbgrips would be from renault?

Not noob questions mate. There is no such thing. Everyone is oblivious to anything.
Your code may be in the manual or on a sticker on top of the stereo (4 Digit code)

Renault don't sell the thumbgrips seperately, you would have to buy a new steering wheel which is about £200+

awww that sucks haha guess i will definately have to sign up then, im not spending that much on a flipping steering wheel!
