Using cruise control with aftermarket steering wheel :/ (182)

  BG 182FF
Can you still use the cruise control on a 182 ff if you hve an aftermarket wheel. For example omp , team momo etc.
also how is the speed set or adjusted without the steering wheel controls ?

iv only owned a cup 172 so no idea how cruise works in the 182s. Need help!

Yeah should be no problem if you find yourself the correct wires from the original cruise control switches and wire them up to some switches generic ones or mount the old ones somewhere....

You would only be able to set the speed or adjust with some sort of switch somewhere though.

so theres no other way top use the cruise control with an aftermarket wheel other than modifyin switches etc? not fussed about adjusting it on the go. just about setting it at a speed n leaving it.

also will it fail an M.O.T if it doesnt have an airbag when the car should??

Think about it - how does your current one work? How will it work if the switches are gone?

You'll need to wire in new switches.

As explained in my first post iv never owned a 182 so have no idea how it works.
im guessing the only way you can turn on the cruise is via the steering wheel mounted controls?

Also how hard will it be to relocate the switch? Is it a case of run the cable and drill through the dash to mount to a switch ?
Is it a case of cruising at 70, hit the button and it kicks in, cuts out upon braking then needs to be reset again with the press of a button? ( presuming it has a memory function )
Could it be relocated to the stereo control stalk at the back for example, and could it be carried out by an average auto electrician or someone specific.

Bare with me guys as only owned a cup. Cruise control is very new to me but I despise the standard wheel so when iv got the 182 it HAS to go. Just not prepared to loose cruise control
