I had to get a new wiring loom fitted to my car after some electrical problems which meant the car wouldn't start. However the stealers have now found out that the wiring loom wasn't the problem but rather I need a new ecu! So I've got to pay £880! Thats for the wiring loom, the ecu, all labour and VAT! My dad's asked them for a bit of discount out of goodwill, seeing as it's only 4 years old, I've had it 4 and half months and I've still got 2 and half years worth of finance to pay off! £880! I could've bought some new alloys and got my car colour coded for that, which is all I want to do to it now I've done the other bits!

unlucky mate bugger when things go wrong , and plus having to pay for something you don't need in the first place winds you up even more

surely if the loom was not the problem u should refuse to pay for the loom and labour and ask them to put ur loom bk

who diagnosed the loom mate? if it was renault,go straight to the branch manager/dealer princeable and talk to him direct as he will have the say on these things, with my experience of working in a dealership you need to be direct but polite and explain that it was wrongly diagnosed in the 1st place, and you would like some sort of goodwill in this

Ross dude, I'm gutted for you. That is really bad. Take it that was Driveline (or Motorline, whatever they are now) and they've done the work now?

the loom had been rubbed through by the anti tampering device above the ecu so would've needed replacing anyway. my dad spoke to the services manager and said they're gonna sort out some kinda discount through goodwill
