SRP/EGP combo?

A friends just asked me what to buy for a friend. So I said that.

Cheap/Easy to use. Etc.

Very hard to start people out mate.

Depending on what car i'll show them what to use. Something that won't stain trim. I'd always recommend AG HD.

Probably a filler heavy glaze underneath. SRP will just get caked on and go all over the black trim.

Is that HD wax really that good? I can tell you the man in the know, seen a few of your posts on DW
I bought Dodo Purple Haze not that long ago, was that wasted? I have a Monaco btw.

Purple haze is fantastic mate.

HD is more if you're not that bothered about waxing every month so it'll last 6months+ in some cases and not need topping up.

Dodo is more for the enthusiast who enjoys washing and waxing every now and again. 2 different products.

Ah thats alright then, Dodo seems to bring out the flake in the paintwork really well!
But as to Cliotoby question, we all start on AG, then you get the bug and spends hundreds on new stuff :)

I think Purple haze was the first pot of wax i ever bought. Well proper one.

Doesnt last long, does look good.

The Pro stuff however does last its worth. Dom was kind enough to give me a sample pannel pot after I persuaded a passer by that the wookie was the best thing since sliced bread. Lol.

I got the bug but then I decided it was getting silly. Ill finish my pot of Carbon then ill be using Glasur for the remainder of my days.

Nah your right it doesn't last a massive amount of time, but I get 4 days off a week to do whatever I want, so cleaning the car is always top of the list...! Well nearly....!

To be honest I STILL use SRP when i do the polish stage before i use purple haze. What would some of the experts say i should replace SRP with at the polish stage?

Unless you're moving up to machine just stick with SRP. Hand polishing is for gheys. SRP works fine for the job that it needs to do.

SRP is good does what its designed to do pretty well. I like it. I usually find uses for it now and again.

EGp is a bit of a pain to apply from my experience due to its watery consistancy.
Not a whole lot of sealant experience but I'm a Jetseal fan :)

EGP as to be the single most piss easy product to apply and remove. it doesnt get ay better.

But it doesn't last more than 3/4 weeks so needs regular aplication. Problem with it being so easy to use that it's far too easy to apply too much, it'll run into every gap and can't get rid of it.

For the beginner / halfords user I'd recommend SRP with HD wax. price is comparable as a pot will well outlast a bottle of EGP. will use less as 2 layers I personnally have seen to give 6months protection. and the finish / gloss is much better than EGP
