What is this ???

What is this bracket??.. (picture not my car). This bracket on my car is rusty and was secured by 2 small bolts to the engine. I took it off as it appears to do nothing. Nothing attached to it.

Depends if you want to take the engine out or not. I'd keep it somewhere safe just incase
