what oil

hey folks just a wee question for ya all, my engine oil needs topping up and im wondering whats the best stuff for the job and would it be ok to top up with normal oil as long as its the correct grade . as its sunday tomorrow and renault parts wont be open so im gonna need to go to halfords. any help would be great thanks

5W-40 is the grade to go for

you can get Carlube Triple R in this grade, Shell Helix Ultra, Halfords own brand, Silkolene Pro S, Total Quartz 9000 (ive got a 5L bottle of this for sale)

and probably a few others, including Elf but its usually hard to find

you can get the Carlube Triple R @ your local Motor World, its factory fill in TVR and Morgan cars and was developed with Lotus Motorsport

Ive got mobil1 15w 50, i think the Renny book says 15w 50, dont quote me on that, sorry to add to the confusion.
