WHat part causes the rattle inside drivers door?

Hey

The rattle inside my door has got worse. any idea what causes it?

i do plan on pulling the door apart this weekend, and will be nice to know what to try and look at / add some foam support to things

I had the same problem recently. If you take off the door card behind it is what looks like a peice of black plastic honeycomb design that is attached to the door frame that guides the window glass when it is lowered. On mine one of the clips that holds this in place had broken causing it to rattle against the door frame as it was lose. I glued this back on and pushed some sponges (dish washing varierty) behind it also.

Is there a guide on how to take apart the door card? I don't want to break any clips. I cant seem to find the right guide in the guide section.

My Wifes Megane is also rattling after a recent regulator change so i need to have a gander at that one too.

Pretty sure there aren't any clips, just a few screws all the way around, and then some really sticky and hard to get off sticky tape kinda stuff, it gets EVERYWHERE.

You need to take off the top strip though that goes up the top of the door, and that will rattle when you put it back on, so put some double sided sticky tape on it too or something.

I believe there's a guide in the how to section somewhere, I used it to clean the contacts on my central locking.

So had it apart.

can't find anything in the door that will cause this noise.
It's a metal on metal sound and as far as i can see all metal in secure and bolts tight.

just very odd I can't seem to find the problem.

If you checked the bar I linked earlier hasn't broken its clip, and you've checked the plastic honeycomb isnt rattleing off the door skin then the only other thing that can commonly cause rattle is the door handle mechanism. Is the wire from the lock hitting on anything perhaps?

Other than that you are on your own lol.

While you have it off look up inside the door panel there will be a silver looking metal bar as part of the window mechanism that is supposed to be attached by a clip but this often breaks causing the bar to hit off the broken clip.

Yup i found that, Thats all secure

I added some foam to the door handle cable... yet still the rattle persists. Hmm
