Whats the score with morrettes

Looking at the Morrette quad lights for my valver i notice that you have to remove the indicators that sit beside the headlights, ie with them fitted id have no front indicators!

Is this legal or would i get stopped by the cops??

Youd get stopped..

Most people relocate them to the bumper - they get some side repeaters usually and mount them on the front.

I did see a set of Morrettes on the forum tho with Indicators built in!

There was a post recently and they were included/built into to the outside lights. I think they may have had "ring lights" for the side lights like the BMW ones. They were very cool!!!

Cheers for that - was a bit unsure as i think the Clio GTT thats for sale has no indicators! I wonder if he gets hassle?

Is there any pics on the site of these cars with quads and relocated indicators?

Yes I did it a while ago. The standard Morette indicators look like something off a Morris Ital. So they need to go straight in the bin. What I did was go to a motorbike shop and get a pair of miniature side repeater units, then took them apart and used the slimline bulb holders and 21w orange bulbs. Drilled the right size hole for the bulb holders, lined it with a rubber grommet and inserted the holder and bulb.

Normal car side repeater bulbs are the right size but only 4 or 5w and far too dim as front indicators; and if you want a 21w indicator bulb for a car its far too big to fit inside the inner lamp housing.

If you want an easy life though, look into those ones that were talked about a little while ago, with an angel eyes rim on them or something.

I have just fitted a set of morettes to my valver last weekend, they are still black at the moment as i was not sure how they would look, they look good as black i think! , i have relocated my indicators to the front bumper just above the front fogs! However i did not use 21w bulbs i bought a set of LED oval side repeaters from A1 motors and they are bright enougth i think! Only problem i have found is that the indicators all flash at twice the speed for some reason!! Is this illegal? and how can i fix this! They flash at normal speed on the hazards! They do look good with the oval repeaters on the front bumper and the morettes make the car look really agressive IMO!

I will post some pics after work!

the angel eye ones, i told every 1 about, i spotted them at maxpoooer live, and tbh for the amount of money they are crap, on the standard headlights on a clio u have the little strip of plastic below them, on the morrets u take this out, on the angel eyes u dont.

also when u lift the morrets they feel like a sturdy piece of kit, feel very stong and dont feel like they would brake, the angel eyes on the other hand feel really weak and stupidly light, oh and the angel eye halo is illegal.

well soon find out as mine should be coming 2mo, think its all on personal opinion and i fancied something a bit different, managed to get proper white halo eyes and not blue.daf

I do like the angel eyes but i didnt wanna pay £350 for them as i think the morettes look just as good if not a bit more aggressive!
