Whistle Noise

Has anyone on here had any experience of a whistle type noise, between 80 - 100mph, seems to be coming from the light unit on the ceiling - any ideas?:S:S:S (04 182 sport)

It's a tad annoying on the motorway!

ive had this on my 172 cup. havnt the foggiest whats causing it. im pretty sure its coming from the roof light. same speed too.

but yes, freeking annoying when doing a cross country sprint in france

i get that. didnt notice it during the winter, but now its warmer and i have the window down i find it quite annoying. any way to sort it?

dont think so. Try a search on here its been discussed a lot. Might be the temp sensor causing it

iv got the same problem-after searching on here i think its the seal around the window-at the top of the passenger side. Got to try and stick it down with a sealent of some type i think!!

i dont have a temp sensor, it could be the hole where it would be though

Flip your windscreen wipers when it does it.

My whistle comes from there.

I just replaced the wipers with the 'spoiler' type blades yesterday but it still does it.

my 182 makes a whistling noise on hard accelleration the engine!! sounds cool

yep, this is a very loud and high pitched noise.

i had this in my 182.

i found pressing the light surround stopped it. i think it is a slight air leak around thta area. i never bothered fixing it. i used it as my speed limiter as when it happened i was at silly speeds lol.

try some experiment with some tape if i was you.

There is a engine whistle with the 2.0, on high revs sounds like a turbo spooling up! (on my 172 any way). But I think the whistle this thread is about is a wind noise whistle. I have the same problem, but I also think its the windscreen seal, mine is a tad loose above the drivers side corner, was thinking about going to auto glass to get them to do a "propper job" of re-sealing the corner down!

well im learning to live with it. dont usually go over 80 as it is, speed doesnt do it for me, driving does

Badly sealed front screen is another cause of the said whistle.

Guess i shall get the dealer in the car and go do 80 mph LOL - got a lifetime warraty with it thru sunwins in preston, - im sure it isnt a feature LOL

Got it sorted, they had it 2 days LOL - they re-sealed the centre light unit.....

Would Renault undestand if i said you have to re-seal the centre light unit?

They're ordering me a new windscreen seal after doing my windscreen bonding yesterday (this didn't stop the squeal btw), so i'm still looking for new solutions!

It is from a poorly bonded windscreen/ incorrectly fitted renault know about it as there is a actis solution on it.
