why are renaults so s**t!

always got problems . got this annoying sound at the moment from engine. Its like a tinny sound and worst in mornings. Cant bear having windows down as always hear it and thats with a bmc kit and full system! Had system checked and not blowing.
thats with my car misfiring in mornings, idling rough, cuting out under 12 degrees (had new lambda sensor fitted so waiting to see if it resolved problem) and feels so sloooooow.

cant be arsed with changing car. i still really like it and i know if i sort these problems i'll love it. it just every mechanic are fecking useless. I wish i knew about cars or had mates who did.

RS tuning is 30 mins away but i always imagine they wont be arsed with these type of problems. any other places in leeds or york?

ye they are. Dont think they give a toss as got few mods on. All they care about are stupid grandads who have their shitty renault modus's for services and mot's . anything more and they panic

My Clio DCI 100 was absolutely trouble free over 85000 very hard miles.
Perhaps i was lucky.
I would visit Rentech in Portsmouth a fair distance i know but incorporate it with a few days break .
I used to take mine for routine servicing despite a 600 mile round trip.
Well worth it if you wish to rid your car of the gremlins.

These ' Renault are so s**t ' threads get on my tits, if you dont like renaults dont buy one, if you dont like there aftersales service, dont take your car there.
As for the noise could be a noisy hydraulic lifter from cold? Dephaser pulley?

I hardly had any problems with mine. Maybe the odd wierd sound or something but nothing major. I had a lot less problems with Renaults than with Fords 
& my last Renault (which was a R5) I used to call indestructable It just never wanted to die, no matter what I did to it.
Anyway, this tinny sound, what are you doing when it makes this noise?

My 172 Cup has been trouble free for the last 18 months. I don't bother with Renault stealers for servicing, I use a mobile mechanic who is ex-Renault. Renault stealers are all to eager to bend you over and shaft you with their labour prices. £205 for a basic oil change service? Yeah right!
I'm of the opinion that a car is only as reliable as it's owner. If you look after it, it'll look after you. Ignore that noise at your peril....

Ill give you an example of how this is pish.
When i turned 19 i got myself a Citroen C2 GT it had 17k miles on it so it was resonably new when i got it. It was under warranty for the 13 months i owned it and in owning it for that amount of time it had 13 warranty claims ranging from the gearbox to premature rusting. I look after my cars meticolously so it was definatley not self inflicted.
Its just your luck with cars, some, not all of us have had very minor problems here or there but there are people out there that have had little or absolutley no problems atall.
You get a car that was either made on a Friday afternoon or during the week, thats life
