Replaced this weekend, couldn't believe the state of the one that was on there!

60,000 miles worth of use!

Why change from standard crap to standard crap again? The powerflex bushes are about the same money right? They make a lot of differance Ill tell you.

Yeah it was a pretty straight forward job to change it, just two bolts to undo and it drops out. It's a bit fiddly putting it back in cause you have to move the engine slightly for the bolts to line up. only took me about 25mins to change it though.

Haven't changed the other 3 yet, more parts for the shopping list!

Replaced it with the standard one as I didnt want the hassle of pressing bushes out, and I've heard the powerflex ones make the car vibrate loads on idle.

The standard mounts are designed to flex so not to put stress on other components. If you stiffen it up too much the stress will find a week point and break that. I'd rather replace my mounts every 2 years than risk breaking something more expensive!

I had mine all changed and uprated at ktec on the last service.
It did vibrate for a while after on idle but now its fine, its softened up a little but everything runs perfectly.

The stock mounts are also designed as a compromise between road noise and comfort.

You could say with 90% of the forum experiencing the engine knock thing that the stock mounts are actually a bad design.

TBH i did used to think the same as you but half the forum run uprated mounts and no ones complained of any related issues plus its not like their solid.

^^ likewise here :) , same thoughts

I changed all mounts for oem ones up till now. Wanted to see the feedback on here of the people running the stiffer mounts. Do'nt see too many probs till now. Not any actually
