Might still be worth it if youve got the time and skill to rebuild the head. In fact Id say its almost definitely worth it. No more than £500 though and the car needs to be uncrashed as well.
yep best thinkg u can do is modify the head. You might need some bottom end work though. I was speaking to Nick Hill when mine snapped and he said he wont repair it unless the bottom end is worked on too! Due to problems 6 months down the line!
i know a bloke whos cambelt snapped on a new astra and it only cost him £500 to repair it. should have been £700 but i cant remember why he got it cheaper. id definitely say its worth it
buy it, you could even make money stripping it, if the car was too far gone in its own right. Hell dont worry about the head, put a 1.8 head on it, its the 2ltr bottom end that is hard to get
