Wilwood 4 Pot Kits for Valvers/Williams

  Williams 2
I've been considering getting some Wilwood 4-Pots for while now.....just wondering what peoples views are who have already bought a kit and installed it, and also....would it be ok just to buy the Wilwood calipers and use standard discs? I'm sure there must be a few people who have done this? Also....wheres the best place to buy the kit? Any help would be much appreciated;)Matt

  Lionel Richie
AFAIK we're the only ones that have the kit available

standard discs are fine as long as they're good quality

i'll price it up for you this afternoon

as fred says standard disks are fine! thats what i used!

  V6 Exige, GTR R35
ive got some on the 172 mate...

although some people said they weren't needed they are still way better than standard.

im running galfer discs - so not exactly standard.

depends what u want it for.

when i was at donnington, standard brakes barely worked after 5 laps.

willwoods would not fade the whole day!

if ur pottering about, driving to work, and the shops then u dont need em! if ur on track a lot then a defo upgrade.

the TB clio needs some really.

cheers for feedback guys....i mainly use the car for day to day driving but plan on doing some track days. The K-Tec Big Brake kit that I have at the moment is ok, but no real improvement over a standard set-up. The brakes just don't seem as good as they used to be....think they need bleeding. I want to have the extra piece of mind with 4-pots anyway, so I can stop even quiker.:approve:

I had the Willwoods its not difficult to make up a set only need the brakcet making the rest is almost off the shelf.
Stunning brakes though I'd get them with dust seal though.

Had problems with the non dust seal type then? Pistons?

Think that was why I was going to get Midilite rather than Dynalite for that reason but need to find someone who can sort brackets out.

Heard the hub needs some work to fit the calipers to normal sized disks, something that is eliviated when using 172 disks like some use. Although this may restrict wheel size...

Using 172/182 280mm disk will mean you cannot go smaller than 15's but that no huge issue stock are 15's.

No need to mody the hubs using the none dust sealed caliper (I think mine were the Dynamlight forged ones) brakets are easy to do just measure them up and take the drawing to an engineering place.

I never had trouble with non dust sealed however the new oner seaid that it failed the mot as they were leaking so had to chnage the seals (only cost £9 but the car hadn't been used much and it was only 1 year old ad there a pain to try and change).

So edde.....just to confirm......what components (caliper name + bracket + disc?) will I need to use for a set up using the dust sealed calipers as i'm confused?:SMatt

i'll add you to the quote list!!!

prices WILL be with you tomorrow
Good lad....could you also include what will be included in the kit, price for individual parts etc. Thinks there will be a few peeps interested.

  Lionel Richie
yeah cool

kit includes:

4 (front and rear) mocal fully stainless braided lines
2 willwood calipers + front axel set of pads
2 caliper brackets
aerospace spec bolts, nuts and washers

the kit we do is designed to meet FIA spec

hope that gives you some idea

  Lionel Richie
everything apart from the calipers is in stock, Wilwood are a pain to get hold of as the UK distributor only seems to keep small volume and we normlly have to wait upto 3 weeks for them to come from USbloodyA

Dave i'll need to measure your hubs first

ok, that could be a problem, u being in stone and me in essex!

Can u get them in red <<< my avatar there the same as the ones u did before?

  Williams 2
Fred.....I already have ss braided lines.....which model of the Calipers do you normally get? Are they dust sealed? Matt

They won't work the lines are longer plus connection are probably different.

  Lionel Richie
correct, connection is different to calipers plus the Goodridge lines for williams wide track are too short IMO, but we can subtract the cost of rear lines no problem

excellent, cheers eddy, i wont need the rear lines of got braded lines, let me no if you can get them in red please fred, also sent an email to yoz and yozzasport about seats if you have a chance to look at it.
