wireless 360

off for a week over xmas so gonna get live on the go

Is it worth me buying a wireless adaptor, my xbox is quiet a distance from my modem and tbh when im on my computer in that room its epically slow too!

am i worth getting a really long ethernet wire (20meters) or getting the wireless adaptor and seeing if i can improve signal at all

Better connection wired Sarah and aslong as you tidy it up after use I would get a cable. unless it's down a flight of stairs!

Live in a bungalow and my study dont have a tv in it to play it on which is where the modem is

I got a monster cable of ebay for about 2.99 was 20m Can't go wrong, it's just an ethernet cable.

I'm in the process of moving my router upstairs closer to the ps3.

I'd go with Ethernet, I picked a 15m cable up for about a fiver.

Im not live yet (year and a half and i still cant be bothered) However seeing as my other computers are wireless. Ive moved the router into my room, Then connected my pc up to the router wired and also have the option of the same with the xbox if i want.

Just another option if you dont mind having the router where the x box is... and you have a phone line in that room.

Then you dont have to put so much wire about.

I got wireless on mine long time ago, people say it's slower but I've never had any problems with it. Much better than having long wire going around your house. Only problem is I get cut off if someone uses microwave but it's rare that both are in use at same time

I loaned my wireless adaptor to the g/f's brother as his 360 was upstairs and his router was downstairs and his connection was excellent. I was running my 360 with the ethernet cable into the router when they were side by side and the online performance was diabolic.

Now, the g/f's brother has moved his router into his room and plays the 360 with the ethernet cable and still experiences excellent connection. I am now using my wireless adaptor and my wireless router side by side and the online performance is far better than when I was using the cable.

Bizarre scenario but wireless is better for me than when using the ethernet cable.

Modem cant be moved as theres still one old skool computer in our house that isnt wireless and where the xbox is isnt a good place to have the modem as its at the other end of the house to where most of the computers are used

I'm wireless to save me running a cable about 3 metres across the front room. Lol

Works great. Never any problems whatsoever.

^^^I have two seperate ethernet cables - this was tried with both but got no better.

its seriously impossible the overheads on wireless prevent it from been possible really latency over wired would be sub 1 ms wireless is alot higher id have liked to have seen what was going on first hand tbh


if your going wireless then new wireless N dongle and new router and it will be good
