Would you let Ford dealer service your Clio?

I bought the car from a ford dealership in Preston about 12 months ago.

Ime going to get the cambelt and service done in a few months when ive put afew pennies away.

Got a call from the Ford dealers this morning, they can do the cambelt and a full service for £450 including VAT which is £500 quid cheaper than Renault qte'd and a fair bit cheaper than other specialists etc.

Question is, would you let Ford do it or would you rather pay alot more and let Renault/a specialist do it?

Matt.

As much as i'd let a paedo look after my kids (i don't have any but it makes my point ;))

i'm surprised that you've said specialists are "alot" more, for around £500 you should be able to find a good specialist, worth travelling a bit to get it done well imo

i travelled 150 mile round trip to get my Mrs' 182 done at Freds (BTM).

you will probably find the rest of the responses to be very similar to mine.....

Not sure Ford would have the tools, I doubt they do many 182 cambelts, would they buy the tools in just for you?

Birchdown or Fred like everyone says.

Just knowing what they're doing and that their safe is beyond value in money.

If fords dealer has offered to do it cheap id take them up on it. But... are they quoting prices for a standard clio, and will up it when they realise its a sport?

I thought that myself. Bet they qte'd me based on a 1.2 or something. But surley if they qte you a price and have it in writing, its their problem?!? lol

Lol no its not, a myth that they have to do something for a price they've quoted... until the car is in and they've undertaken the work specified with you believing its that price.
