would you paint it LY?

i have always been a great lover of liquid yellow and am also getting bored of my candy red as it only looks special in direct sunlight and we dont really get much of that here :p

i am a painter by trade and i dont want comments like its gonna cost a fortune or its too difficult i just want an opinion as if you were in my position!

the car has a few paint problems im gonna need to sort out and i dont want the black roof anymore either and i am also having Daniel's gloss black turini's off him so it'l be a bit different from the pics but do you guys think i should do it?

PLEASE do it alien green! That would look so good.

Cant go wrong with LY tho, why not keep the black roof to match the turinis etc?

LY only looks 'special' in sunlight aswell though , trust me. If its dull , raining etc it looks like just a flat yellow

as said before its no hassle as its my job and i re-painted it the candy red it is now so tbh there's no point me spending another few grand getting an LY 182!

and as for alien green just no!

its the most pathetic green ever and look vile!i like bright greens but its not bright it just looks like it needs a good polish!

the porsche GT3RS green however is nice!

but im not asking you if i should paint it green im asking if i should it LY :p

gally why would you get me banned?:p

If you're going to go to all the extra effort of painting it, do it a decent colour.

Porsche orange/green.

i see one quite often as its fairly local and i only really ever see that in the dark and it looks a lot better than my browny looking red :S lol

Ecosse the Peugeot specialists say its very very hard to get a nice liquid yellow finish as it requires lots of layers/effort.

They did a stunning liquid yellow 206.

If you can get a good finish, then go for it!

ly is smart but personally if i were going to the effort id pick something different ike a charcoal gray/ cool blue ;)

ive seen that in the flesh and had my old LY182 parked next to it and they were different yellows. I preffered the pugs LY

tbh i paint all day everyday and when it comes to doing my own work i wont stop til its perfect!

i've heard people say the same things about candy red and i did that no problems ;)

i've painted LY before on a vee and a 197 so i know what im working with so its all good!

its not really about being different tbh tried that with the whole euro/cleaned thing and just failed at being different. to me its just about making it for myself and i love LY and everytime i see a thread with an LY 182 i always say to myself i wish my car was that colour:cool:

Yeah Paul, it is their own custom version, Greg from Ecosse explained it had their own touch to make it slightly deeper, yet more liquidy if that makes sense lol!

They quoted me around £5500 to spray my car that colour lol!

Personally if you are going to go to the trouble of painting it again I would do it a Non Renault colour.

However LY would look great, if you had your heart set on it

It's a 3 stage pearl iic and the problems you might inccur may not be worth the hassle.

The ban part was a joke.

Personally, I'd want to do another colour but from what you're asking, if you like LY, and you want LY, do it LY.

LY is stunning mate, I'd go for it although your car does look mint at the moment

Its your car and your money, sod what people are saying because at the end of the day if you want to paint it LY then you'll end up painting it that colour.

Personally i would go for some thing else that other renaults do not have just to be mega different.
Just think of going to a car show where no one there is the same colour as you.
