Spare wheel secures how?

Just removed my rear seats on my Phase 1 172, , and realise that the spare full size wheel isnt secured
There is a 4 inch bolt rising upwards centrally with a thread - anyone know what the thread size is so i can get a nut to fit?

Also- how do spares get secured? (Phot helpful)
I have a polysyrene holder with a jack, brace and tow eye on, but that sits underneath the wheel at the mo, but no nut or anything to hold the wheel down

Anyone tell me how OEM the wheel is held in place- or shall i fabricate some flat steel to hold it there for daily driving use?

The wheel houses a plastic jack and brace holder which has a hole in the middle that a plastic twisty thingy nut that screws down onto the thread and secures the wheel.

Great. its the middle plastic twisty thingy i need ?

Thanks MRBILLYUK but i cant see a phase 1 with a secured spare wheel in any of those images?

Yes Bloke- if i werent going round the track at 100mph+ it would be a good idea to just cover it up with another load of stuff that if it was flying around inside could probably kill me? Or even not going round a track and just using it as my daily and having a high speed prang?

Thinking nice big piece of flat metal bar cutting straight across the wheel and bolted down?

I believe this is the arrangement on a PH1?

so that fits inside the spare wheel (Cant see how I just have a polystyrene things with the jack, tow eye, and brace in it) and what holds that to the centre threaded spindle? That's the part I am missing and it doesn't look that piece is in the photo?

A Ph1 172 should come with a 15 inch steel wheel.
You place it face down in the wheel well and then the kit shown in the eBay link above screws through the wheel and into the boot floor, securing the lot.

I think (think!) the polystyrene thing was for a 172 Cup and held a can of tyre weld. (They didn't come with a spare wheel)

Jesus, you not cleaned it for a while???
Lol. Just ripped the rear seats out 24 hrs before

Looks like flat iron secured straight across to hold it in place, unless the twisty centrak thingy will hold a full sized wheel?
