Another 1.8 16v cliosport conversion

i can't imagine such a small bit of plastic would add any weight though. plus the dash might look a bit crap without it?

Yeah i understand what you mean about the car weighing as little as possible but we want the car to look like the finished article. The idea is to make the car look like it was built from the ground up to be how it is rather than stripped down.

this is an amazing project. SO much work. I bet the results will be worth it.

Edit: fellas, Just to check, are you doing a williams wide track on this baby?

Sorry about the lack of updates, circumstances have ment not a lot of photo worthy progress has been made of late. The weather has been aweful, we spent 1 day down whilton mill so I cound finally ride my pitbike and Beanie managed a 19 day run of solid working to pay for the project.
But we have made some slight progress, we've wired the battery cut-off switch into the old dash as neatly as possible (all 6 wires!), also I've been extending to feeds to accommodate the battery relocation, but I don't have any pictures (sorry)
But we've also decided to try and get the rear arches repaired (because they are aweful) while waiting for the pesky fibreglass doors to arrive so we've started to strip the car to a bare shell, but owing to a lack of time and space we've only got so far.

Thanks you everyone for your support we'll keep you all posted :D

Cant wait to see this car finished at fcs 2011 ;)

It does feel like that sometimes but the way we've done it is if we do all the work before paint it should just bolt together without much cutting or changing in a few weeks (famous last words) once its white. Hopfully not long now:)

are you doing this project out of a council owned garage out of interest? I'm thinking of getting one myself. If you are, mind me asking what your paying for it?

Awesome car this lads.

Cheers fella's your support is always welcome around here!

Danny, the bodyshell once everything is back out of it again is going to the local vauxhall dealership bodyshop where I work but unfortunately it'll still have to go through the books so i've put a few hundred to one side for that.

Point 8 The garage we've got is indeed from the council and it costs a pitance something like £5.70 per week but we're trying to restrict how much we do down there as we don't want to annoy the people who live in the flats it's behind.

Cheers for looking

where the steering colium bolts on to, There use to be a bracket going from that to the body is this not needed for strength

Had a delivery of fluffy components which we think look pretty damn good. Many thanks to Suffolk flocking services for a top job for the price and in the time quoted.

Then back onto the meat and potatoes of the project! Started stripping more off it for its trip to paint.
Got the engine out and the servo off, not too much left to strip so hopfully the next post should be of it going off to the body shop.

I can't begin to tell you how much i love that sunny, it was a present from my dad when i sold the corsa to pay for this project and i was struggling to get around more than i thought i would. Between this project and Moo's pitbike racing we've put that car through hell and it's never batted an eyelid.

Top motor!!! LOL
