Dito. Just need a few more pennies before I pop down, and ideally a ph1 accellerator pedal setup.

I looked at ITBs originally, but the engine has issues so ended up blowing that money on a forged setup. So i'm not looking to spend another £2.5K on the engine really. It should be interesting to see how it goes. It will be running EC1, and cable, so who knows in the future. Oh and the fact it's noisy as it is :D

Got any pictures of the setup you will be running then?

I dont think he'll be using a genuine setup seeing as he said that he doesnt want to spend 2.5K on throttle bodies, the genuine S2000 setup would cost him far more than that.

This was the version of a very similar setup that I made for my old nova engine:

Mine was on shorter trumpets internally though as it was for forced induction, but havent got a picture of that.

Or right, sorry havent heard them called MST before as Ive not been on this forum long.
I normally hear them called MWM.

No nothing to do with them mate, the plenum was made by ford (its off an RS200 group B rally car) and the inlet manifold is a jenvey one, and then all the custom bits in between I made myself.

I remember the thick kids in chemistry and physics always thought the teacher was waffling cause they didn't understand it.

Guess you didn't get many good grades at school Danny. Lol

you've zero knowledge of my education or experience. I dont talk/type about myself constantly unlike you. It's boring, you might grasp that fact if you could shut up about yourself for a bit

So from laine asking about 438's it goes to people trying to shine through and look superior to others.. Sum ppl just carnt help but have there heads up there own arse I suppose aww well nvm...
Would be interested in your result once fitted tho Laine as thinking of a set when my cam belts due

Haha off topic yes, but banter about throttle bodies and engines in general is all good in my book :D

Cambelt kit and seal kit on order from 519, sourced a Cup alternator and brackets to remove the air con from a very kind friend, will install the cams, not this weekend but next (providing weather is OK). Will be ringing Ktec in the next couple of days to book it in for mapping at end of Jan (hopeing waiting list isnt to long)

Sounds good fella.. Want to remove the air con myself as 1 of the pipes is damaged amd I'd mever use it anyways.. Will be watching for the results

I've got a 172 on bodies and copies of the C+B camshafts to map soon and will take it to surrey rolling road after so should have some figures for those.

Sounds good! Can't wait to see the results ;)

Will certainly be interesting to see what they manage in terms of BHP gains compared to your 186bhp starting point laine.

Cams are in, with new kit (that was a fun job), engine feels very good indeed although im not pushing it to hard, different note. Roll on 30th Jan for mapping :)

  182/RS2/ Turbo/Mk1
Glad it all went well :)

Looking forward to seeing the results, especially on such a strong engine to start with.

My car is similar spec at the moment 438'S/cup alternator set up,has a Milltek with sports cat and v6 air box also here is a recent dyno graph at TDF ktec has the same dyno now so you should see similar results.

I'm sure he's hoping for more than that as he's started with 186bhp

Yeah be pretty peeve'd if i walked out with 189bhp lol, im more interested to see what it will do with the actual torque spread than the peak power, hopeing for 170ft'lbs across at least a portion of the rev range.

Are your inlets still standard Laine? prob worth throwing a set on before mapping so it's all done at once

  HBT 172 Cup
Yeah standard RS stamped inlets. The join from the upper to lower manifold appears to be very closely matched from the factory, certainly one of the better sets ive seen.

But from what i understand most of the gain is from the join from lower to the head, which i havent had apart to look at. Its definately something that crossed my mind to do before mapping though. Not sure i can justify £150+ but ill have a word with you later on about some Danny.

If you can get 170lbft and a similar spread of torque to what domsclio has there, it will be an epic fastroad/track car I reckon mate :)

I'd sooner see a surrey RR printout though just as its what im more used to as a reference point and its a lot more independant that getting the car mapped at ktec on ktec cams and then asking ktec what power it is, lol

  182/RS2/ Turbo/Mk1
Cool.

If these do what they say on the tin (ie the gains of 421 without the downsides on idle etc) then I can see ktec selling a bucketload of them.

The Clio RS market is pretty slim on products that give genuine gains.

When my car was mapped the air con was still on and had a different exhaust so my map could probably do with a tweak, but I think you will be lucky to see 170 ft/lbs that would be good for a ITB car.Maybe you have a freak engine though,my car pulls very well so if you hit the figures you are talking about you should be very happy.
