FLOL, its just great to see these cars getting to a good standard and the owners at last realising that they are getting rare...
I just spend the money on mine as it gives me something to do, its my hobbie tbh.

Good man, the simple things in life a..:)

I bought 25s for mine a while ago before the coilovers, but as it was not low enough it looked wrong so i sold them.
Now its lower im thinking about spacers, but i do like the way the front wheel arches make the car look fat and i think with spacers you loose that look.

I was thinking about 10 front 10 rear but i havent made my mind up yet.

Your dedication to this has got me thinking I'd be mad to sell mine, so I'm just going to keep it. :)

I'd cry endlessly if I ever got rid of mine.
to be fair, I think with us having decent well looked after PH1s we'd be mad too, I've only seen one other where I live

I was thinking for the money you was after for your car you was mad in putting it up for sale, the price was peanuts mate for such a lovley car.

Although i keep on looking at BMW 335i coupes....:quiet:

Anyway great news mate i hope you do, but if you do sell then ask top money for it and please dont just give it away for the sake of rushing into another car.

Ive had a few offers to sell mine after putting this post up and my detailing one up to. I got a great offer but i still can not bring myself to sell...

More jobs i want to do, i enjoy it tbh.

Re: My PH1 172

Right so i took a drive over to see chris at Autocrash as my rear bumper and sills where ready for collection.
Its almost a 2hr drive for me but it was well worth it as the bits looked factory fresh (and im a fussy old bugger)

By the time i got home took the bits out of my van and then drove to my garage to collect my tools and polishing bits it was almost 4pm.

Started to fit the bumper and then gave it a going over with Prima Amigo and then a nice coat of AF Soul, this will also be done to the sills before i protect the undersides with the 3M Scotchgard.

Sorry about the crap phone picts oh and the sun going in when i was fitting the bumper, but you get the idear.

While they where still at Autocrash

Re: My PH1 172

Cheers mate, the black one was well used by the looks of things. Full of car park dents, melted steering wheel and young childs crap everywhere.

Ive never seen a black PH1 on the road..:)

Re: My PH1 172

I own a mint ph1 too.. I bought it because in my view it's the best / retro of all the cliosports.. plus it's design is almost a bit understated, like not many people instantly know what's under the bonnet.. my view is that just like the R5 Turbos, a mint one will only go UP in value as they become rarer and harder to get.. from what I know only just over 1000 ph1's were sold new anyway, so there can't be that many kicking around now?... For the small price you would get (in relative terms), say £2500-3000?.. (or more??).. it's worth keeping hold of, you would never get one the same and would regret selling it. I used to own a mint R5 turbo and sold it 3 years ago for £1500.. how I regret that now!

1,357 Phase 1's were sold on our shores - its going to be a long time before any become valuable IMO.

Re: My PH1 172

I wonder how many still exist?
I wonder how many have had 3 owner's from new and under 50k?

Not many id say, so the good cars available is quite slim.

I Love mine, it still brings a smile to my face everytime I drive it even after 3 years of ownership.
Id like a Cup as well though....:D
