Its obviously an earth problem, plain to see. Im assuming water may have gotten to some of the wiring causing the short, but im not entirely sure where to start.
Hello,
I have a clio 1.2 16v expression. The car starts up and ticks over fine but no response from the throttle. Diagnostic scan has come back with the following
531- pedal potentiometer circuit track 1, circuit to earth.
197 - throttle angle sensor circuit short to earth
589 pressure sensor...
Yup - Saturday morning. Nothing to report, everything as it should be. It seems to me like an air intake problem. When the car is up to temperature and you disconnect the brake servo vacuum pipe, it draws more air into the intake manifold. Put the hose back on and the misfire and idle sorts...
Thanks Steve. Runs no better with the air box removed. I can appreciate what you are saying but Mick is a good hour away from me and the car is currently sorn, i wouldnt hesitate otherwise!
Thanks for the replies. Surely if the car has a vacuum leak, in this case on the brake servo line. It will cause the car to run rich thus potentially fouling plugs the and will in turn cause a misfire ? 1 thing is for the, this pipe is affecting the running of this car in some way . I will try...
Sorry, i should have said. Thats sorted now... cheers. But i think we are getting close to the source of the problem here is a better picture, on the back of the inlet manifold next to tge tb.
Im thinking this pipe may have something to do with my issue. If you let tghe car get up to temperaryre, ( roughly half way on the gauge ) and pull off this pipe and put it back on, the car runs sweet. No misfire, no bad idle - nothing. Not the bed picture admitedly, but it sits on the back of...
Jolly good for you. Certainly have not ignored you either. I went back to basics long before I posted the thread asking for advice, and I am working my way back through them as and when I can. Thanks for your input so far and all the best.
