Yeah, first time out on the new setup, looking forward to seeing how it goes on the softer road spec springs as well on the ASTs before I stick the stiffer rates on
The ASTs transformed the Trophy even with the standard springs. Car ran much flatter. Stiffer springs again improved things so I don't think you'll be disappointed

It ran on B14's for a year or so before they went on, Similar spring rates but the damping on the ASTs is miles ahead.

The car has changed a bit then Craig!
It has Mark,

Missed the tack days, turned up and went out with a mate at one and thought that a 315bhp clio can't not be used in anger 🙈

I do have all he original bits, so if it needs to it can go back to full road...., the Trophy kinda went a little past that :grimacing:

I'm delighted you've gone back to the track ways, I was surprised when you were mentioning keeping it OEM and show car type, looking well prepped already!

Great reading, I've stayed up late reading this whole thread tonight, I am looking at doing the supercharger build on mine later in the year. Do you know if there was an original build thread to go with the conversion? or if you have any other photos of the supercharger set up you could email over to me?

Thanks.

Hi mate, I don't think there was I'm afraid. Picture below of it in jamsport, but that doesn't show much more. I'm led to believe when it was done it was more of a bespoke build, but certainly more common now. I do believe there was a magazine feature of it a couple of years back, if I find the cover page photo I'll send it over, I don't have it on the phone....

More goodies arrived today, and even thought the car is sitting doing nothing they had to be fitted....

So now matt black ones are fitted the carbon dipped ones are gett g some rainsports fitted at the weekend.... I'll be interested too see how the r888r's perform over the r888's on the Trophy as most of the guys prefer them!

Was worried about colour choice as I love the matt bronze ultraleggeras, but I think both those and the white wouldn't have worked with the car.

Anyway you can hardly tell the difference between these and the carbon ones on the car and I now have the option of wets and dry wheels, which I suppose would be great if ever got the time to drive her 🙈

Yeah I like them.... looked at prorace 1.2s because they were cheap, but just didn't look right Mark. Plus the deal I got in these was unbelievable so it was a no brainier.... I think the black works well. Like you I'm a gloss man, but unfortunately they only make them in matt... once i give the car a clean and get tyres shone up a bit I'll be happier....

Finding wheels to suit the car is quite difficult I think personally. I'm still a speedline fanboy though, so what do I know! Lol!

Where did you get them from out of interest? Was it from that guy in the Chech Republic? Or where ever he's from! Lol

Well two track nights on the trot this week, tomorrow and Wednesday night. Let's hop I have more luck than I did last outing!

New MAF & KNOCK sensors fitted, along with the extinguisher system and the matt black wheels with the R888Rs on so let's hope the weather stay as planned!

Usual wash, detail and check over and loaded up ready to go!

Car ran faultlessly last night, so all issues resolved hopefully..... typical though the weather was on and off rain!

Car felt amazing planted over the Trophy, which had a lot of time spent on the suspension set up, so that's a real positive. Very flat at every bend, which was outstanding. Even in the wet / mixed conditions and first time driving, we were only a second of the times of the Trophy as well so that's positive. Still trying to learn the 6 gears over 5, it revs that quick there's quite a few more changes per lap 🙈

So let's hope its drier tonight and we can start to push the car a little

Sounds strange but the straight line power was not as impressive as I had hoped, but I think weight is the main factor, so I need to decide whether it's clubsport look, which is a great thing, or full track like the Trophy 🙈. Will decide that after I start to push more in the dry.

It's also a thirsty bugger of a car! Quarter a tank to a 7 lap sprint FFS!

Will update tomorrow on tonight's progress and see if there are any track photos kicking about

You've got a trailer. Full track car no questions 😂
That's what I'm thinking..... things an animal, down to same lap times as trophy even with Fraser in the passenger seat and it has lots more to give..... needs to be much lighter though..... much lighter!

I'm also going to have to improve oil cooling and look at a larger intercooler

Aye, always feel like your wasting time if you're not out eh?

Cheers, it's going alright considering. Next purchase has to be decent pads, killed the £15 APEC ones that I fitted last week, just enough left to get me home!

Same as me then, get your foot down more!
Once your used to it there's gotta be another couple of seconds there I'd think. How many miles have you done in it now, 150?

Absolutely it's a sub minute car. I'm braking way to early coming into duffus and hairpin, that will take 2 seconds off straight away. It's just learning the brakes as they are ferocious and I have the lock ups worry but all does f el good

Major over heating last night which was draining power massively. Problem is on track with it I'm getting 60miles to a tank full as well!!!! 5 to 7 laps quarter tank of fuel

lol
