Does anyone know if the 172/182 steering column comes apart into 2 separate pieces, so in the picture, can it be separted here (arrowed)?

On my 172, the steeringwheel is now moving up and down :mad: (with the column locked in position). It looks like the top bearing in the column has collapsed. Before I spend ages taking it apart any further, can the bearing be bought seperatly? Or is it a whole top column I need? I did a...

Is there any specific grease to use for filling the driveshaft gaitors?? Im rebuilding both sides with new gaitors and clips but cannot find anything off the shelf that will do, all I have at the moment is Castrol LM grease which looks too thick..

Im having trouble sourcing the above for the standard 15" wheels, do Michelin still supply them for the smaller sizes?? I need to replace the fronts soon as they are wearing down, the rears still have plenty of tread. Or can anyone recommend a decent tyre??

Does anyone have to hand the part number for the aux belt kit for a 172mk1?? Last change I, I bought the parts seperatly not knowing there was a kit!! On dialogys it just lists the belt, tensioner and idler as all being seperate.

How sensitive is the ABS in your 172/182s?? Im sure mine isnt right. It will come on way before the wheel starts to lock. It only comes on when I brake hard but I feel it doesn't need to.

Driver waved at me this afternoon but by the time I acknowledged that I had passed. It was on the roundabout just off junction 26 of the M1.

Does anyone know what percentage the Renault type2 coolant stuff is?? Reason I ask is im bleeding the cooling system on a mk2ph2 1.2 clio and instead of using the Renault stuff Im using up a 5L bottle of Halfords advanced 5yr coolant. trouble is im not sure what percentage of water to mix it...
