FAO Those With Existing Safety Devices Roll Cage, Msa Eligibilty

Is that the case? On the safety devices website for the RO20 cage, it now says "not for competition use". I've checked with Mark Fish and apparently the same issue applies...

    Battery Isolator - 197/200

I get that the push button isn't always live, the wires behind it are far too small to carry the current required... but I need to cut the ignition live - and that's the problem - where to find it! Hoping someone who has done it can shed some light?

    Battery Isolator - 197/200

Hi All Anybody got any experience with fitting a battery isolator to a 197/200 track car? I'm interested to find out how to isolate the ignition live (not the battery itself), whether to do this at the fuse box, the ignition (start/stop button?) or elsewhere? Looking at a solid state isolator...

Turning airbag lights of with CLIP

Hi Mike, thanks for coming back! they're all disconnected, do they need to be open circuit as in no resistors on the end of the cables? Will this work for the seatbelt pretensioners and seat position sensor also? Thanks, Tom

Turning airbag lights of with CLIP

So after much messing about with resistors and stuff and still not clearing the airbag light on my 197, I've decided to buy CLIP from eBay (yes yes fake copy I know bla bla). Does anyone with experience have any pointers as to how I go about navigating the menus to turn off the required airbag...

Agggh! The endless track coilover and spring rate debate!! Help!

@DrHammershaft yep AST 5100 with top mounts. I've not decided yet but leaning toward 450 front 500 back... Any reason you're going harder? Julian has offered to calculate optimal spring rates for me but I'd need to disassemble the strut to get the measurements for him, which I'm not really...

Agggh! The endless track coilover and spring rate debate!! Help!

Sorry to revive this thread... I've just had a good chat with Julian at Balance Motorsport, in conjunction with AST. I'm buying coilovers for my 197 track project, and couldn't figure out why a lot of you opt for heavier springs at the front and lighter at the back. Surely this just induces...

    ***How much is it worth?***

Hi All - Not sure if this is the correct place for this thread, car is technically not for sale at the moment just judging interest and price point. I'm thinking of selling my 172 Cup, spec as follows: 2001 Clio Mk2 172 Cup Mondial Blue circa 117000 miles Bodywork OK - plenty of dings and...

    Trackday pads

I recently totally cooked my ds2500s at snetterton, which subsequently disintegrated into dust when removed... They've been fine for a while but as I've got better at track driving and braking harder and later, the pads haven't coped well at all. I'll be upgrading to something a bit more...

Newbie & racing / corner weighting

I wanted it to rape it for parts - but the price for too high for me to warrant it. Some good bits on there though, will make a decent car I'm sure!

    Last Minute Track Day

All the track days I've been to ask that you fit your tow eyes before going out on track, and generally the marshal at the pit exit will check. Better safe than sorry, as mentioned above if you don't have it fitted they will find something to clip the tow cable to and pull you out anyway!

    Anything "wrong" with this harness?

Outside seat belt mounts are M10, buy some M10 eyebolts and re-use the holes. Inside, you will need to drill holes and mount the eyebolts from new. I used 7/16" UNF eyebolts with spreader plates underneath. Between the bolt and the car body i used split washers. Behind, use the schroth guide...

how to remove the rear seats

You only need to remove the T40 bolt furthest towards the rear of the car if i remember rightly, the other one needs to be loosened slightly, but it just slides into a notch. I did mine by folding the seats forward, and then using an impact driver with an extension and a torx bit. The bolts...

    Indicator / Horn stalk options...

Popped down to the local scrappy this morning to find an indicator stalk for my new steering wheel. I've come back with a couple of options, both from a mk2 ph1 Clio, and both are slightly different wiring.... Even though they have the same controls! The first is from an S Reg Clio (98) and the...
