Just been told that the cylinders are gone too, they did a compression test on each one and there was no compression in any of the cylinders, so it looks like I need a new engine now rather than cylinder head. If anyone know of someone who has an engine for sale or know of where I could get...

I've never found my 172 to drive like the Op describes. it sounds like it defo needs alignment or even new bushes etc. Infact when i drive larger cars, Mondeos, Vectras, Primeras (ok I know they arent the best handling cars in the world) they seem to be wollowy and vague and dont inspire any of...

Basically mine doesnt work, the control panel will make the air hotter but not really colder, it also will direct air around eg to the screen or your feet. But the fan doesnt blow and the air con part doesnt seem to work. Also my exterior temp doesnt display under the clock, could this be linked...

My 172 is on an 02 plate and doesn't have ESP - switchable or otherwise. Mine is an import though so maybe thats why.

Can you tell me what difference the V6 air box makes over the OEM 172 air box? Also is there any difference between the Clio V6, Espace V6, and the Laguna V6 Air Boxes? Does any one have any pics of these fitted? Not sure if this is in the right place, sorry if its not.

Re: Is the ClioSport more efficient Fuel wise at higher revs? Thats the same for me too, mine defo isn't more economical if you drive it hard.

As i have a slight miss trust for french electrics, i work mine out whenever it is un-usual i.e. over 33mpg. But its always right to within 0.1mpg. The best mpg I've had is 41.2mpg on a careful drive down the M4.

Had a bit more of a serious look this morning and im very tempted. Think its a bit rich for me at the mo though as ive just bought a house with my missus. Think i'll save for a bit and look at getting one in the summer.

Someone I know from the old Renault Sport Club had his totally standard 172 on the rollers at Hill Power and got 169bhp, so I was happy with 163bhp. Nick did say it was the best standard 172 he had done a power run on.

Just got myself a Skoda splitter, will get round to fitting it this week. Need to change my handbrake cables first though as that when ping the other day, good job work and home are on the flat lol. Pics to follow of my splitter when its done :cool:
