Hi Guys,
Basically, I washed my car on Saturday, paying the usual attention not to get water straight into the grill etc, and didnt drive it all day after that.
On Sunday I went out and the car is spluttering and feels hesitant. Pulling away the revs splutter and also cruising between 0-80mph...
Hi all,
Here are some of my random pics from Saturday @ Combe. I have hi-res versions if I snapped your car.
I am by no means the worlds best photographer, and these are 'best of a bad bunch' pics.
Still getting to grips with camera settings etc, so C+C welcome (and encouraged!).
The below...
Hi guys
Long story short, Im in Yate (Bristol) and my car is currently non movable.
I need someone to come to my Farm in Yate and do a full belt change (have all the genuine parts) on an engine that is OUT of the car, and then drop the engine back in.
Please PM me your price for the...
Hi Guys,
Need some opinions of what I should do...what would you do in my situation?
My 95k 172 has dropped a crank. Very bad knocking sound identical to that of 'Andyk1801' as seen here: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?708818-Car-sounds-fuked&highlight=crank
I've had my...
For anyone that only heard about it... Poor guy, feel really bad for him - Caught the grass at the braking point with the pass. side wheel going into Quarry, which then dragged him onto the grass, down the tire wall, then he bounced round a few times before driving off again!! Only managed to...
Saw a white 197 Cup backing out of a space and leaving Tesco in Yate today.
Hope your on here as i'll be interested to see what exhaust you have!!
Had some kind of square/rectangle exhausts molded into the round cut outs in the diffuser.
Hey all,
Hoping someone can shed some light on something that happened on my way home from work today.
Left work to get fuel not even a mile away. Engine was cold and I never go over 3k rpm until its warm.
Pulled out the petrol station onto a 50mph road in moderate rush hour traffic so had to...
Looking at getting a new set of front seats for around the £250 mark for my 172.
Anyine got/seen/sat-in the Sparco R333's?
Any views on them?
Ideally i'd LOVE a set of the 200 Cup Recaro's, but they are way out my price range for the time being!
Had a few spare hours over the weekend, so I thought i'd give the 172 a quick wash and fit my new wind deflectors.
Not done a massive amount as yet:
- BMC CDA induction kit
- Remap (Unknown which one - Was on when I bought the car)
- K-Tec center section with Longlife Slash & Rolled backbox
-...
Used to see a 182 at Apec Braking on the industrial estate in Yate.
Not seen it for a while though, but always wondered if the owner is on here as I drive past it every day going to work.
Evening all,
I have to replace my Battery very very shortly.
On the other hand, i have been looking for the best solution for the air feed on my CDA.
Now, I was hoping i could kill 2 birds with 1 stone and use a Race battery, lay it down on its side and have more space to route my CAF?
I know...
- Silver 172 Cup in Morrisons Garage...8am ish
- Red 200 pulling out of Westerliegh road by Morrisons garage and heading down Station Road...8am ish

Followed an LY 182 last night around 5.30 through Westerleigh down to Downend.
Had colour coded rear bumper insert and CS sticker on the boot window with a few more mods too.
Sounded nice :)
Followed a nice Black 182 home tonight.
Pulled out behind you at Peg Hill and followed you towards Wickwar before I turned off.
Certainly looked cleaner than mine!!
I just put a ScanGauge in my 172 and it works a treat.
Shows far more Gauges than a lot of users have said on here and i'm really pleased with it.
There are 2 little issues though that I was hoping someone could help me with.
- The MPH doesn't display, which has a knock-on effect to MPG/0-60...
Im after a set of front tyres for the winter and ive been quoted £70 each to the Toyo PX4's.
Does anyone have any experience with these? Are they any good?
I had T1-R's last winter and found them amazing in the dry, but cr@p in the wet.
Are there any other tyres in the above price range you'd...
Basically, the story is as follows....
on the motorway in 5th, inside lane, put my foot down to overtake a car and bang.
A piece of the aux belt frayed and caught in the cam belt, making it skip teeth and putting the timing out. Que shopping list for 8 new valves!
Anyway, finished rebuilding...
Hey,
Does anyone know if there is any good places to get my inlets matched in the south west?
I'm based in Bristol. K-tec is a bit of a drive (willing to drive there if I need to) but wanna find more local options first if poss.
Thanks!
Hey all,
I have a wierd problem on my 172.
Everything suspention and wheel wise is totally standard but the back wheel rubbs quite badly on the inside of the rear arch (the boot well basically) on the passenger side.
The drivers side is fine and no other wheels rub other than this one...
Hey,
Im putting a slimline PS2 in the car this weekend but im wondering how to get the power upto 240v to power the console? Not the best at electrics so any help would be appreciated!
Many thanks
Nick.
As title really, what size are front and rear disks on a 172? F: 280mm and R: 238mm?
If they are smaller than that, would these sizes fit with stock calipers and stock 172 wheels?
Thanks!
Hey,
How easy is it to change the rear brake pads?
Is it a very long job?
I have just got some new pads and I wanna crack on myself but im...well...not clued up mechanically sometimes :o Is it an easy job to do?
Thanks!
Nick
Hey,
I have noticed that the real passenger side wheel of my Ph2 172 is rubbing on the inside of the arch (By the shock), and when the wheel is on, I can get a finger between the wheel or the shock, but on the drivers side, I can get my whole hand inbetween the wheel and shock!
Would...
Hey,
I want to paint my brakes on sunday, but not sure what colour to go for.
Any pics of Iceburgs with painted brakes front and back would be wickid.
I was thinking Red, but thats slightly "try-hard" imo. Any idea's?
Thanks!
Nick
Hey,
I keep seeing the same Iceburg 172 driving down Wickwar Road on the way to Wickwar at about 7:15am most mornings, and sometimes I see you elsewhere in Yate.
I always flash, so if your on here you'll know who you are
