My 172 has been stored in my garage and the battery went completely flat. Fitted a new battery and now it will not start :-/
Turn key to position 2, wait for lights on dash to clear, turn key = nothing, just clicking of relays
Turn key straight to position 3, car cranks and automatically...
Only just found this thread.... thats my car mate, but its changed quite a lot now in the last 12months.
Loads of pictures on my instagram "barton1806"
Recently fitted 2 new disks/bearings to my 172, after doing one trackday in November the car was parked up until the m.o.t was due today.
I have been told by the garage that one of the wheel bearings has been ruined after only around 150miles.
I have since found on the forum that there is to be...
shouldn't think the 2mm should make much difference as its got an automatic tensioner. May even be better off as now the belt will be under more tension making it less likely to slip.
Hardwired my fan into a switch via a fused relay and now i've been fannying around in the fuse box now the car wont start.
I managed to get it to start with the relay box unclipped but as soon as I went to put it back into the fuse box the car cut out.
The car will only crank if you turn the...
What is the best way to fit my front lexan windows? don't really fancy the heads of pop rivets showing like i've seen on others. anybody know a neat way of doing them?
thanks
I used a cheap oil temp gauge on mine, had it showing 120+ a few times. It used to start to tick a bit while that hot and also if you pull the dipstick out the oil would run off it like water. I have now upgraded to a 15w 40 oil and a mocal thermostat operated 10 row oil cooler, temps have now...
I have finished fitting a cage to my car and I now have no lights on dash ignition etc, also my hazards do not work but my immobilizer light is very dim. The battery is showing 12V with a meter at the terminals in the boot. but at the connector post under the bonnet is showing 2.1V I have had a...
I see. But the cage cant move forward or back as it ia right againt the firewall on the front and the rear cage cannot go any further back. I see about the rear stays i havnt got a welder so they are bolted in for now until my friend can weld it for me, and there is a plate under the arch about...
Went to fit my ORECA 6 point bolt in cage and have found the feet on the "B pillar" bar and also front "A pillar" bars do not fully contact the floor. Considering it's supposedly a "bolt in" cage, the front bolt holes are interfering with the front chassis reinforcement etc. also the feet are...
I fitted new suspension, top mounts etc to my 172 and now under extremely heavy braking there is a loud bang and the car jolts forwards.
I fitted the shocks together with spring compressors on to ensure they were tight and the top mount bolts is nipped up also. Two bottom bolts are tighten with...
I have removed the carbon canister and vented it from the cam cover using a small filter. Is it safe to remove the pipework all the way to the petrol tank and vent it there or shall I only remove the pipework to a small connector next to the cat and vent it to atmosphere from there?
regards
Any advice on how to remove the bottom half of the dash along with heaters/ and all ancilleries. Also then how to I install only the top half as I have seen a number of cars like this.
After searching the forum I see you have PSX also. do you run camber bolts on them or just a normal bolt with camber adjusted by hand and wanged up FT?
I have bought new top mounts also, I had to buy a pair of top spring retainers as the car was on coilovers when I bought it. And on the rear I assume where the spring sits on the axle is a part of the axle? And not a bolt on piece.
I have just received my Spax PSX kit and have a few questions for anybody who has used them or similar kits before.
The kit doesnt come with an external bump-stop on the front, I have been assured by SPAX there is a bump-stop inside and they are ready to use with just a plastic collar around...
Also wondering about this. On my track only 172 currently has KTR coilovers which were on when I bought the car and the rear shocks are ruined no damping control left at all. What would be best suspension for the car? Spax shocks/springs, Koni shocks/cooksport springs, Gaz coilovers or spax rsx...

Looks quite similar to the Trophy/Cup but doesn't seem...
Looking to change the standard spoiler on my 172.
Have seen many Cup ones on the net, and also people talking about Trophy and V6 spoilers aswell.
Is there any substantial difference in them as from what I can see the only difference is +£100 on the price.
Also pics would be helpful to...
My Mrs has a 1.2 Dynamique and wants to put RS xenon headlights on it. I have seen on other threads people saying they are simply plug and play. Although looking at her lights the H7 bulb holder has wires going to it to energize the bulb. Where as my 172 Xenons simply have the one connector to...
Yes I bought the car with an aftermarket wheel fitted, I also had the airbag but instead of unplugging the airbag it's wiring has been cut from the column, where does the resistor fit in?
