  Clio 1.8 8v RSi
Hello all. Im after the same sort of system (RMS power of 2000 W) BUT i dont want to spend the wopping ££££s on it! What are a good make of Subs and Amps to kick out this power for as cheap as possible? (Not Hallfords stuff though!)

Inphase, although i dont really like them do produce high power stuff, or theloudest.com may be a good place to look.

  RRS, 172, ST3, VTS
I only use alpine, but thats me. Theres loads of stuff you can use, are you looking 2 subs? 2000w RMS is abit much, no need for it. You looking components also?

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
Audiobahn is over priced, you are paying for the bling.

I'd look @ RE Audio, SPL Dynamics, Powerbass Xtreme etc

So you want 2 subs and a 2000wrms amp and your budget is £2500?

You fitting your self? What car is this going in?

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
Off the top of m yhead you could go for 2 SPL Dynamics 1200wrms Amplifiers for £400 giving you 2400wrms straight away.....

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
why o why do people keep recomending inphase and the loudest.com. no no no

RE, DD, Powerbass

No i forgot to say, im only after 1 sub. 2000W is how i like my bass. 250W is what i have and it just cant handle Drum and Bass!lol I suppose 1500W RMS but really dont want to go much lower. And yes, Audio Bahn is over priced, especially when their amps are covered in flames which rattle all the time!

Thanks for the advice so far chaps!

Fittin my self yes, it helps when my dad is a carpenter, we made an excellent box last time but my god did it weigh loads! Bough my self a big box of sound insulation too off ebay so got plenty left!
No my budget is not £2500! Its probably say £600, but i havnt looked into other sound systems for a while so maybe it will be more?

You may not like this your self but i do, the way id like my boot is to have a beafy sub plonked straight in the middle with the amp hidden. - http://www.theloudest.co.uk/?sectionid=2&page=view_product&product_id=85
For £250 @ 1000W rms sounds pretty good.
And this amp for £119

They would go perfectly together? Am i being a little un-realistic and over the top?

I thought you wanted 2000wrms? Those theloudest amps do not live up to their claims!

You said you didnt want the chavvy , Halfords type stuff, Theloudest is so chavvy, Halfords wont sell it!

Go for the lesser known but bigger brands. www.talkaudio.co.uk/vbb is an awesoem forum that will help you LOADS. But dont mention the loudest over there ;)

So you want one sub with 2000wrms?

What size you want?

I think a 2000wrms amp and sub is going to be hard on £600 budget, Would you consider second hand?

I'm going for an SPL Dynamics set up, 2 12" XTR woofers and a S1200S Amplifer, Only 1200wrms (600wrms per sub) but is within your budget and leaves £100 for cabling/deadening.

re audio xxx 15.

One-Way, Linear Excursion -Xmax: 54 mm:approve:

i've got a 1000wRMS amp you can have for 150 quid

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
well that depends lol, ive seen a few broken ones lol.

RE are amazing (but then im bias lol)

A guy I shared halls with at uni had £3000 worth of subs and amps in the boot of his 206 1.4. They made it even slower then it was, made everything in his car rattle including the windows and wing mirrors when they were on about an 1/8th of full power and then someone drilled his boot lock and lifted the full install from his boot job done!!

So in my opinion anything near that power is a waste of money in a car not just because it will probably end up stollen but because it makes the rest of the car fall apart as well.

Oh i dunno what im after, just a punhcy bassy sub - above 1000W RMS. Im used to bass, ive got a PA system in my house running 2000W rms so im just used to that, then stepping out my house to go to work having 250W RMS does suck a little! But PA systems seem to be cheap (2 Peavy speakers £300 Amp £300. Car stuff is never cheap is it! Iv never been too kean on SPL, SPL is whats sold in Hallfords isnt it? Ill see what i find and post up then you can all say if its worth it or not. cheers

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
2nd hand on talkaudio is pretty much the only place now, as i said there are no UK distrobuters anymore

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
for the RE XXX 15 you will need a 5cuft box (not happening in a clio boot) and 2000wrms @ 1ohm

How does this sound everyone...The sub -
Audiobahn AWES12P -
http://www.bassjunkies.com/?pid=306...woofers/12\"Subwoofers/Audiobahn&source=brand
Running at 1100W RMS,
And the amp running at 1000W RMS -
JL Audio 1000/1

Giving me a total of £350
Just need a 1000W wiring kit and possibly a Power Cap, What Farad Cap will i need? Iv got a 1 Farad, will i need a 2? or more?

Edit:What size box should i make for best sound performance?

Edit: And i know people said AudioBahn is over priced but they sure look nice

Any responses to this? Have looked at JL Audio subs but are very expensive....

Power cap isnt necessary, Just use good wiring, And upgrade your factory earths.

That JL1000/1 is a bargain for £150!, However, Without looking is it 1 ohm stable?

Dont really like the sub, But never mind

What sub would you recomend then for under £200, that runs @ 1000W RMS and has a big rubber cone like the audiobahn and jl audio as they look the sh*t!?

  Polo + Micra
doesn't need to be 1 ohm stable at it'll pump out 1000wRMS into 4 ohms

also i'd keep well away from audiobunk sorry audiobahn

I understand W and RMS business but i dnt understand OHMS? Isnt it the lower the OHM the better the quality? OK, AUDIOBUNK is not recomended then? What is for under £200 like i said above that powers 1000 RMS? Cheers Dink for the amp :)

  Polo + Micra
with normal amps the lower the resistance (ohms) the more current flows so you get more power(watts)

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
as above but most amps are designed to run at 4ohms,
higer spec ones at 2 ohm then specialist ones at 1ohm

  80MPG BEEZA
look for a company called shark there sooooo underated their cheaper then anything else but amplifier/cost their the best

  Black Gold Trophy
I dont understand people who want that kind of power in their car..A loud system does not mean a good sounding system....it is going to be way to loud for anyone to listen to on full blast, so why not buy something with less power?... Surely you want something that is nice to listen to anyway? If it's so loud to the point its painful to listen to, why bother?
