182 gear lever

A colleague of mine has just bought a 182, (a woman!!!)

Anyways when she puts it into gear the lever still has alot of give in it like it's in neutral, is this normal. I'm assuming it's just spring loaded or something

Any advice would be helpful

182's seem to be owned mainly by women, especially if you live in scotland!

apparently 182 = womans car, 172 = mans car.... lol

it could be normal, afterall it is a renault, just depends how much play there is.

The Renault boxes arn't superb and the mounts are much better there will be some give. Best idea maybe to go for a test drive in another car as a comparison.
I wouldn't worry though best advice I'd give is to chnage the gearbox oil for somehting like millers 75/90 as that is better IMO.
