197 or Type R

I am in a position where I need to buy a new car. Should I get a 197 or new Civic Type R?

If you can afford a civic type-R then I'd go for a golf gti personally.

You WONT lose minimum money on it AND its pretty much a great car, looks brilliant in white as well!

Best to drive them and decide for yourself. I don't personally like the new shape Civics, think I'd go for an R26 for that kinda money, but if you're not interested in one of those, i guess I'd say 197

As Deb says, drive them both then decide. Im thinking about doing a 24hour test drive on the new Type R just because i can.

197, but I would say that, not keen on the look of the new Type R's anyway

Ask yourself which you like more on exterior cos u will look at it everyday.
And think about the price, insurance and maintanence cost.

But for myself, I like Megane R26 It is such a nice looking car.
BTW, I like rare car.

I'd get a Elise personally if I was to splash out that kinda cash. However, as everyone has said test drive both then get haggling.

Between those two I would have the 197 even if it's slower....I prefer the looks.
