197 Road Presence

But a 2002 172 cup is as fast as a 2012 clio 200, how is that advancement? And probably slower round a track due too more weight etc.

That, right there. Shows you know nothing. The 'probably'
just because it's not quicker in a straight line, your basing that on no improvement? You can't compare the handling and brakes standard vs standard. Straight line speed means nothing. My 200 is a much nicer place to be than my 172 was. I think it's a much better car overall, more confidence through the bends and general control of the car, it's a lot more sturdy.

Somebody say my name lol, any chance to show a few pics. Here's my 197 lowered on KW coilovers & spacers to show it's road presence abit more. Better pics are needed though.

As said the 197 has loads of road presence, & is almost as wide as a Vee. I remember seeing two next to each other at FCS & the 197 looked huge, In height & width I think that's what makes it look wider than a Vee is the mk3s are generally bigger than mk2s.


Heres a couple of pictures of my ph1 & Kris's 197 when he first got it.

As for the 197 rear looking "weedy" to the 200 rear they are the same apart from the diffuser lol.

Exactly, some make it out like its a whole different car

The only thing i wish is that the front bumper was lower...... it needs to be as low as the bottom of the rubber splitter, then the splitter on the bottom of that, if that makes sense

Yup, came on it when I bought it a few years ago. Good compromise imo, although I do like the naked look also.

I've dabbled with getting a cup spoiler, even sourced another GW boot to fit it to, but I know i'll end up hating it after a few months! indecisive ftl
