5w30 ok ?

  Clio sport 182
Hiya guys.

Quick question just wanna know what others have done and experience doing so ie any issues with pressure sensors or whatever.

Gunna service clio this week. My autodata states I should use 5w40 fully synthetic.
I've heard off of a few people they have stuck 5w30 fully synthetic in.
I know the grades are different, but 5w30 is still a good oil.
My autodata also states it requires 5.1 litres but then when I checked on different software it shows it requires 6 litres lol.
Ive got 5.2 litres of 5w30 from left over services so was goin to use this. Dont mind buying an extra litre of 5w30 seen as it will only cost me about £6.
But just wanna make sure oil pressure light doesnt come on like if the special correct oil isnt used with the citroens.

Any advice or experiences with this would be great.
Cheers

For light use it would be ok but I'd be wary of giving it any stick as it will get a bit thin as it warms up.

I'd look at 5W40 as a minimum, 5W50 as an improvement for harder use.

Comma 5W50 synthetic is a good oil, £25 posted for 5 litres. Very similar properties to the ELF 5W40 but better as it gets hot.

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
5w30 is ok for cold climates, so you'll be ok for the winter. You'll want a 5w40 in there if it ever warms up
